Tunnel vision? Out of all the great jazz reissues, those were the three best he could come up with?

Not a re-issue exactly, more of an archival release; Jarrett/Haden/Motian "Live in Hamburg '72" has been very enjoyable for me the past few days in its HDTracks version. A very different kind of Jarrett/Haden collaboration than "Last Dance", which I also like.

Your recommendations don't have to be re-issues, just very good recordings of good music we actually want to listen to. That's why I asked for something on CD.

In your vast knowledge of recordings, don't you have any on CD? Many of us would appreciate what you have to offer.

Gary, did you read Fred or my posts before you posted your comment? To refresh your memory:

So I don't understand your post. Where was anything about new issues mentioned?

And no I don't buy CDs and haven't bought a CD in over a decade. I'm perfectly happy to contribute to:

OTOH, I am currently setting up a music server because I have hope for 2x and 4x DSD. I don't want to turn this into a digital vs. analog debate but leave it FOR ME, digital still doesn't have that elusive, undefinable magic, that ability to give me that occasional case of goosebumps and cause me to say wow when I hear a musician performing. As they say, YMMV...

As far as "new" artists go, I prefer to just see them live. But I never miss a chance to see the "old timers" when they are around and performing.

The original list included both new and re-issues; I think Gary was just interested in your recommendations in both categories. But I know your interest is more in the sound than the music :roflmao:(just kidding)

Dan,

Thanks for posting! I have Kenny Barron & Dave Holland - The Art of Conversation in 96/24 WAV and it sounds tremendously good. This is absolutely one of my favorite downloads. Matter of fact, it was so good that I went and saw them in concert last month at Byrdland.
