Often in our busy lives, we don't get a chance to stop and reflect. Tonight I was thinking about the year. I cannot believe we are going to soon be ringing in 2018. Family will be flying in for Christmas in less than 2 weeks at my place (I love my relatives, so it's all good). I cannot believe how busy 2017 has been for me personally.
I just wanted to take a moment and thank all 9,623 members. You guys and gals are what make Audioshark so great. It's you. YOU! Your posts. Your comments. Your ideas. Your discussions are what make everything so great.
Frankly, unlike some other forums, we all seem to get along for the most part and I really think this group understands that there are no winners and losers in high end audio - honestly, it's all good sh!t! We can respect each others preferences without getting into a whole big pissing contest. It's ok that one person like X and another likes Y and a third prefers Z. I think we have a great group of subjective audiophiles. We will let the others argue over which product measures best (but still sounds like crap). Our members tend to have real systems and real experiences. I've learned a lot too!
It's hard to believe we are closing in on 10,000 REAL members. Frankly, there is no way I could do this without all of you, and especially, Joe. You guys don't see what goes on behind the scenes. Joe does yeoman work with things. If you could all get to know Joe one day, he's even nicer in person. Mark has also helped quite a bit in some sticky situations - rare, but it happens. I'm trying to encourage Mark to post more (you have no idea how well read he is)....but he's just so busy.
If I have one request, it would be this: With 9,623 members, I want all of you to think outside the box. Think of interesting topics for discussion. Start new threads. I know many of you and you're brilliant, successful and experienced. I would ask that in 2018, you all try to come up with interesting topics - even if it's not about audio!
Last but not least, I appreciate all of you being here and contributing as you do. As birds of a feather, we definitely stick together.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and let's make 2018 even better at Audioshark.
