Tell me about the Oppo players

If it is going into a cabinet perhaps you can have an external fan blow on it (like in an aquarium hood to cool the lighting). I have heard of people cooling power amps in this way as well.

It would be sitting on the top shelf next to my turntable so it might be ok.

One thing I'd like to mention about Oppo and that is great customer service after the sale. I have an old Oppo BDP-83 that I use for the Kuro. A few months ago, the door quit opening and a call to Oppo and they sent me a mailer to put on the box and send it to them. It came back a few days later and I wasn't charged a penny for the fix. Also, a few weeks ago they sent me an email to let me know they had a firmware update available to handle the way a new blu-ray started (actually souldn't start due to a timing error). Sure enough, I tried the new blu-ray and it acted precisely as they said it would. So, I installed the firmware fix and voila, no problems. I think I bought that BDP-83 when it first came out, back in '09.

I listened to the modded Oppo 105 and the new Modwright DAC at RMAF and they sounded identical to me.
What new Modwright DAC? I have a MW Sony HAP-Z1ES and it doesn't sound like modded Oppo 105. The new transformer coupling design is more neutral, higher resolution, detail ... very different to my ears.

All I know is that while at RMAF a Modwright DAC was playing some music. After a while, the host asked me how I liked it and I said it was nice, but I'd like to hear the modified Oppo, if it wasn't too much trouble. He then played music via the Oppo and I noticed that I couldn't detect any differences in the sound in that room with that system.
