Tariff implications.........

Here ya go - same day delivery and only $89. Surely you can afford that? If not sell a stereo piece or two.
The HP DeskJet 2855e printer is manufactured in China. While some HP printers and their accessories may be assembled in other regions like the US and Europe, the DeskJet 2855e, along with most other HP printers, is primarily produced in China.

I know that. I don't know why you are crying about tariffs when the printer is $89. That's my point.

If you are whining a new printer is $89 you must have died under Biden's real-world inflation numbers.

I still think it's hilarious the people pretending to freak out over temporary tariffs now were silent during the years of massive inflation under Biden.

Their faux outrage is all intellectual phon-isim.

You know the price of ink is higher then gold? They do everything to use more ink, like cleanings every time before printing. But don’t worry HP has something new: the cartridges are not for sale anymore and delivered for a monthly fee. A kind of mobile phone business model, for something that is worth nothing: ink! And they do everything that another brand does not work.

It is crazy, it are companies like HP who make the citizens poor with their incredible high margins.

Damn! What year was that?
I went out on Full Time Co-Op from my Trade High School majoring in Engineering Drafting in January of 1979. I did Board Drafting and was helping the Designer until they got slow so they asked me if I wanted to run the Saw or Shaper. That turned into an Apprenticeship and then 20 years later I taught myself AutoCad and got back to Design. I was making $3.55 in '79 when the top guys made $9.25. In the end when I changed careers at 42, the pay was really not that great compared to where I am now or even right out of college.

HP makes people poor?

Oh gawd....

It's not the people buying new $2,000 iPhones each year, or having 50 pairs of $300 sneakers, or spending $12 a day at Starbucks, or blowing money on weed every day to go through life stoned, or spending thousands of dollars a year on stupid lip injections, or Biden's inflation rate, or his war on energy dramatically rising energy prices (my electric bill and gas bill went of 4X under Biden's moronic policies - wait - I mean who ever was running the country with autopen as he can't forma a complete sentence - just read the transcript released today of him being quizzed by the AG a few years back).

It's none of that. But it's that damned HP ink that is ruining the world!

LOLOLOLOL

Instead of allowing you to deflect once again, let's take a look at what Tariffs have brought to America -

  • Hyundai announced a $21 billion U.S.-based investment — including $5.8 billion for a new steel plant in Louisiana, which will create nearly 1,500 jobs.
    • Hyundai also secured an equity investment and agreement from Posco Holdings, South Korea’s top steel maker.

  • France-based CMA CGM, a global shipping giant, announced a $20 billion investment in U.S. shipping and logistics, creating 10,000 new jobs.
I dropped the link for all that as the list was too long for a post but I am sure most did not read it.
How about all the investments he just secured in the Middle East. Nah, nothing to see here, move along.

The other points they don't get is in the end, we will have more money to spend and the dollar will be adjusted so if we have to add a few dollars for the tariffs, it should be no big deal.

Back to tariffs. I wanted to provide a site for something positive, that everyone knows leans a particular way.

They are being forced to report reality. The reality that is right in front of them.

Tom
Yeah, the Fake News is finally being forced to report on Reality or risk completely going out of business. What does CNN have now, 10,000 viewers?

While there's no exact, officially disclosed percentage, estimates suggest that a significant portion of items sold at Walmart are sourced from China. Some estimates range from 70% to 80% of Walmart's merchandise comes from China. However, it's important to note that Walmart also sources from other countries and has a "Buy American" initiative

Personally —- buying audio gear is what is making me poor. Tariffs or no tariffs.

I do find it humorous/sad - or could be my weird sense of humor that a few “Made in America“ companies have raised their prices since tariffs began. Hmmm - ???? Tariffs or gouging or just poor timing?

Silly me, I thought you cared about the American worker...

As I said, nothing is (entirely) made in the US anymore.

Tariffs raise the price of both foreign and domestic goods.

I've finally learned in life not to waste time trying to argue with either the stupid or the mentally deficient. They are both a complete waste of time where I should be actually enjoying life rather than trying to correspond with the professional hateful/miserable.

I thought you learned it already, yet here you are, again. I wonder who is the "mentally deficient..."

Personal attacks have nothing to do with tariffs.

Focus.

Name calling without a substantial rebuttal just shows who has ran out of facts for their argument.

Tom
Agree. I guess we are done.

Hi Tom - I'm not name calling. I've just realized at this stage in my life - literally - not to try and hold a conversation with the mentally ill.

I used to try and converse - and you can see in this thread how well that's worked.

I'm just not going to waste my time with those people any longer in life.

I'm drinking tonight and rolling 45 tubes, 2A3 tubes, and type 80 rectifiers all from the 1930's and 1940's. I'm only popping in here in between switching tubes and letting them warm up.

If only they could have some light, love and positive energy in their lives. But alas it is literally not possible for them.

The amount of hate - and sheer stupidity some people have shown in this thread is what it is. Let's be honest and call a spade a spade. Trying to pretend they are anything other than completely overwhelmed and consumed with hate is simply kidding ourselves. Frankly we should all just be ignoring them and letting them melt down with their anger and hatred. Reading some of their comments here there is no doubt in my mind they support the post Comey recently posted and then deleted and thankfully he is now being investigated by the Secret Service.

I'm actually enjoing music not phased in the least by their comments nor behavior. That's why I called it what it was - honestly - and have since moved on to my next drink, tubes and music. :)

I don't hate then or even have animosity - just utter sorrow and sympathy.
