It is impossible to talk tariffs without talking about the man since tariffs are literally being pushed by one person.

Randy, 170 countries had Tariffs on the US. This was unfair and we here in the US basically subsidize every other country's economy thru Tariffs or Drug pricing and more. Everyone should be happy that something is being done about it after all these years no matter who it is. I'm sure your comments would be very different if this Tariff issue came up say a year or two ago.

Once again, we don't have to ruin a good conversation because of one person with so much hatred in his heart. Just stop reading and posting to this thread and be happy. I'm sure it's just like a normal highway wreck to some who have to slow down and look.

If you still have not seen the beginnings of good results from this situation, you are not looking or listening to the wrong people. The US will come out of all this in a way better spot than we were just 2 months ago. My retirement account keeps hitting more highs every day after recouping all of the original losses. If your account has not, you might want to change advisors.

Actually it would not be different. Tariffs and finances are the job of congress, not the president. Doing all of this through Executive Orders is akin to being a dictator or a king. Yes, others have done Executive Orders, but never ever to the extent that has been done by this administration. It is like he believes he is a dictator. The United States does not have a king, we have a government of checks and balances which works when each branch sticks to their lane. One man does not believe in the rule of law and abiding by orders given to him by Judges, even orders given by the Supreme court in a 9-0 vote.

And accepting bribes from other countries, personal bribes... luxury hotels being built in Middle East countries, 400 million dollar jet that cannot be used as Air Force One without about a billion dollars of our tax payers money to assure its security... and then he has stated he will keep the jet afterwards. This is 100% against our constitution... again, he sees himself as a king.

Again, you just can't stop. Lets allow the tariff situation to play out and see how it goes. Working well so far. And please stop injecting the rest of your Hatred into the thread. You seem to again be misinformed. The plane is being gifted to the DOD and when Trump leaves office he cannot and will not take it with him. It comes under the control of the National Archives.
Please turn off the Fake News and if you cannot stay on topic, stay out of the thread. It's that simple and most adults could deal with it.

I was a Poli Sci major in undergrad with a speciality on the Middle East. I lived this for four years.

Most people who quote the Constitution don't have a clue.

And I guarantee none of them have read the Federalist Papers which actually goes into great detail about what the Constitution means as written and why it says what is says. There is no need to "interpret" anything.

Ahhh, I saw him say that he was going to keep the plane. Second, it will cost a ton to modify to secure the plane for our use. You really need to get your head out of Fox Entertainment.

The act also states that congress can approve or disapprove of the presidents actions.
 
It would be nice how the prices will develop over the long and short future and where the audio gear is made in future. At this moment, all the tariffs are not settled yet, the balance is not clear and all the shops have still a lot of stock which is available for the old price.

What doesn't help is blame each other all the time and try to promote their own political color and opinion, and attack the other one. We now already all know what side you are, and what is the thing you like to achieve? Convince the other to your own personal view is not going to happen. These argues cannot be won by anyone. In that case it is better to close a topic. By the way: when we all discuss this way: on the man and totally off topic, there is a change that this audio forum, and more audio forums will close because of the atmosphere, so there are no updates anymore about new cool stuff. Is that worth it?

Please focus on what brings us here together: nice high-end audio gear. Of course the prices and the amount in which country it is produced, but not a few times a day. Is it is an idea that at certain time frames, Mike gives an update about price developments and product availability at Suncoast audio and lock the replies for all the others?

Correct. And they have chosen not to so far. So nothing is illegal. You need to read more than just the one sentence from Google.

This doctrine of Congress delegating its authority to the President and nameless bureaucrats and agencies has been in contention for 50 years and has also been recently facing legal challenges (as it should).

Congress is lazy as it creates more laws and doesn't want to have to deal with what they create. They were never meant to be able to delegate their authority. The purpose was to keep them having to be involved with their limited 18 things in the Enumerated Powers the Federal Government is allowed to do.

The ultimate example of a President exceeding this authority is the Paris Climate Accord.

Well guys, I live in Windsor Ontario, and I am a CNC Machinist. Almost all of our work is Automotive related and these Tariffs have definitely affected my job/life. We have probably 90% of our work either on hold, or straight out cancelled.
What was once a good career is now up in the air, thanks to you know who.
Some of our fellow employees are on work share, only working 3 days a week. My stress level is through the roof. We are supposed to be friends and neighbours, but that seems to be ruined.

That was my past life, Toolmaker-Machine Designer and ran all types of CNCs, Lasers, Wire and Sinker EDMs. Back when NAFTA happened I was laid off as a toolmaker and hired back as a machinist for less money.

Good luck finding work or a new job.

I have been in this trade since high school, so have pretty much done it all too. I am turning 60 in August, so a long time. I am hoping our new PM can work out a so called “deal” with Trump because I do not want to be forced into unemployment.
Windsor and Detroit are tied together, and have been since I can remember.
Now suddenly people are worried about paying rent, car payments etc.
What can we blame this on?😔
It is actually a double edged sword because a lot of our cancelled work is for electric vehicles, which nobody want, or are buying. Our government handed out Billions of dollars to build all these battery plants, that may not ever open.

Tool and Die makers are usually the highest paid blue collar workers in any factory they work in.

What would you say the percentage of work for EVs that was cancelled was in comparison to your other work?
