Tariff implications.........

My brother in law was a railroader. Any time there was a derailment he had to go to the site and get it right. As you know, there's a lot of stuff that has to go on to get everything fixed.

We went from discussing how figuratively this thread had derailed to discussing actual train derailments.

Or when the incurable TDS kicked in and Randy called Trump a Nazi?

No one in their right mind would say that was keeping the conversation on track.

Thank you to all of the people who put this madman in charge. You should be embarrassed and fighting hard to right this incredibly wrong that you had a hand in."

Steve, back in the early days of my career (Penn Central years) derailments were everywhere !

Didn't Technics some years back move a lot of their Mfg to Malaysia or Taiwan ? if so depending on tariff implications I wonder if more will move or the opposite, come back to the 'Mother Ship' ?

Why should you move? With an unpredictable policy you cannot build an expensive production plant. Day one there are tariffs, day 2 not, day 3 the latter is not true, day 4 it is postponed to a later date. It is this The final tariffs are far from clear and if they are finally set, what‘s next?

Moreover, labor in those countries is still cheap, even with tariffs the manufactering costs are even with tarrifs still lower.

And finally, if moved, all the necessary compounds to build it are mainly from other countries tarrifs still need to be paid.

Maybe i see it wrong, but don‘t see Technics moving back.

I agree - manufacturers won’t do anything drastic like moving plants across the world until things settle down.

Only where they already have plants will they increase/decrease production.

agreed, that, FWI wasn't the point of my post. More in-line with your last sentence, multiple plants in multiple countries could very well prove fruitful once the dust settles..........

How could you forget that nonsense? This from a guy who left the far left lunatic blue state of California with arguably the worst governor in our country so he could move to a red state that Trump carried by 16.5 points.

I actually did not call Trump a Nazi, although technically it might fit. I actually called some of his advisors, and those who actually wrote Project 2025 Nazis. If you have paid attention to anything Stephen Miller says or has written you would agree that he is a Nazi. The Nazi way of thinking, which is what I said, is not necessarily only being against Jews. It is promoting White Supremacy, and in his case it is against those of color; brown, black, Native American, Asian, etc.

His son in law can no longer stand him. Wife can't either, and she refuses to spend any time near him. I believe his daughter has also turned against him. None wanted anything to do with his running again. The only reason he did was because it was the only way he could avoid going to jail. Again, do a minimal amount of research and it is apparent that this is all true.

And there you go, being a idiot again. Do you know that Trump actually received more votes in California than the entire swath of mid states combined? It is such a typical reply from cult members, labeling everyone from California as "far left lunatic", which I assure you is 100% untrue, and giving names and insults based on this ideocracy. Also Kansas actually has a Democratic Governor, neither of which makes a bit of difference to me since I am a devote Independent (who is actually registered as a Republican) and therefore I never vote according to party affiliations. I also assure you that moving to Kansas had nothing, what so ever, to do with politics. And, for what it is worth, Newsom is actually a pretty damn good Governor and probably would be a far better President than anyone currently holding any kind of position in the current administration.

mep, why does a vast majority of the threads you jump in become a big snarky insult fest? Maybe, just maybe, for the one thousandth time, your insults and snarky responses are actually the source of almost every issues that happens in this forum.

I take it you are all in for Project 2030 or anything else the WEF has planned for us?

And for the sake of getting back on track, earlier it was mentioned about the vanishing money. Instead of panicking, all one needed to do was sit tight and wait a short time. I am only down about 2% today after being down close to 20% like everyone else. It is rising every day. I suggest buying some Gold at this time, it is not yet done rising and we will soon be back to a solid and sane backed currency and economy. The FED and Central Banks are on their way out and printing money out of thin air to add to our deficit and send to other countries and NGOs is ending.

I never said everyone who lives in the state of California is a far left lunatic, but reading and writing were never one of your strong suits.

As far as your ridiculous accusation that I am the source of every issue that happens on AS, I will let others be the judge of that.

As they already have many many times. I have asked you before, and I ask you once again, do not ever mention me or address any of your snarky replies or insult toward me again. If you cannot do this than maybe it is finally time to ban you once and for all.

"on the left", so putting labels out there again eh. His wife, his daughter, his son in law did not campaign for him. A little research will show the words written are correct. But Porsche, you and I have never had an issue. And so you know, again, I state, I am Independent and do not lean one way or the other. I try to support the persons who have shown they support Americans, regardless of party. I look for those who put the Americans and America above political parties. Pure and simple. I have stated this in the past and will thank you to not refer to me in political party type insults in the future. Thank you.
