Tariff implications.........

Its hard not to panic when you are planning on retiring in 2 years and I have lost over $700,000 since the Tariffs were announced. I am sure people have lost a lot more than me. I am sure it will come back but the answer is when?
It is hard not to be upset when it is very apparent that insider trading has been going on. I am equally sure your $$$ are now in the pockets of some rich buddies who got a heads up a very short time prior to "another announcement".

Mr. President was caught bragging on how he made his billionaire friends millions if not billions of dollars
This is second hand info. Although I would not doubt it.

Is this conjecture or do you have proof? There are shorts everyday. You have a direct link to further insider info?

Honestly, deleted my comment. He bragged about it... not even worth discussing. I cannot let myself be dragged into a conversation about this, so I will leave it there. One last thought, think about the people who are really getting hurt by all of this... (hint, older folks on fix income loosing their retirement savings that they worked their entire life for, small farmers, getting killed by loosing their customers, rural folks loosing the only medical facilities that are even reasonably close... yes people are getting hurt).

I am in the same boat. If taxes go down or become eliminated, and SS is no longer taxed, and the value of the dollar is reset as planned, we will be fine. And if you had enough to lose $700K, you are still way ahead of me and I am not worried.

Randy, I don't think he 'lost it', rather a 'valuation decline', two very different things. Regardless, the dollar amount is not what I look at, rather the percentage, makes it easier to sleep ........ ;)

Of course he didn't have proof, he just heard the MSM babble and he believed all the parrots. I hope there is an investigation into insider trading because it's real, but it won't turn out the way some people think it will. Too many people in congress arrive in debt and suddenly within a short time they have become millionaires on an annual salary of $174k.

If you wonder how the big boys invest in stocks with tremendous success, download the Autopilot stock app and you can follow the stock trades of your "favorite" investors.

Most likely, imported luxury items will end up costing a bunch more. And the really wealthy won’t even notice. As the say - “they see it, they like it, they want it, they get it.”

What do you thing the mineral deals with Ukraine and the Annexing of Greenland is all about? They both have what we need and to be able to sidestep China. And EVs are the least of our worries right now. 90% of Antibiotics are MFG'd in China as well as many other meds. I hope those of you who do take Pharmaceuticals are stocking up. US will soon become the global dominator in manufacturing, we have already seen the billions invested already this year.
I don’t want this to turn into a political debate. As of April 15, 2025, both locations you mentioned are not relevant to the current situation. Greenland is not joining—nor being forced to join—the United States. And regarding Ukraine, as long as the war continues, no agreement will change the fact that you can’t move labor or goods in or out of a country actively engaged in conflict.

Typical reply that we always expect from you. Throw in snarky insults and never actually address the issues in the conversation. For the record, I do not "believe all the parrots". I use logic and reason, and I do not have alternative motives. I actually hope there is investigations because I believe all politicians should diverse from any potential conflicts of interest as a requirement for holding offices. There are far too many career politicians that are becoming rich through nefarious means, such as trading stocks with inside knowledge, and this is occurring regardless of political affiliation.

My biggest concern is how people are being badly hurt by the current actions and I want elected officials to be advocates for people they are suppose to represent. I believe support for political parties over support for Americans as a whole, is the single worse thing that has happened to the United States, and I am very much a devout Independent and absolute do not support any political party. As the founding fathers warned, supporting political parties over supporting America will destroy this country from within.

"Today, it may seem impossible to imagine the U.S. government without its two leading political parties, Democrats and Republicans. But in 1787, when delegates to the Constitutional Convention gathered in Philadelphia to hash out the foundations of their new government, they entirely omitted political parties from the new nation’s founding document.
This was no accident. The framers of the new Constitution desperately wanted to avoid the divisions that had ripped England apart in the bloody civil wars of the 17th century. Many of them saw parties—or 'factions,' as they called them—as corrupt relics of the monarchical British system that they wanted to discard in favor of a truly democratic government.
'it was not that they didn’t think of parties,' says Willard Sterne Randall, professor emeritus of history at Champlain College and biographer of six of the Founding Fathers. 'Just the idea of a party brought back bitter memories to some of them.'

George Washington's family had fled England precisely to avoid the civil wars there, while Alexander Hamilton once called political parties 'the most fatal disease' of popular governments. James Madison, who worked with Hamilton to defend the new Constitution to the public in the Federalist Papers, wrote in Federalist 10 that one of the functions of a 'well-constructed Union' should be 'its tendency to break and control the violence of faction.' "

"George Washington warned against political infighting in his farewell address. As he stepped down from the presidency, Washington urged Americans to always place the interests of the nation over their political and regional affiliations."

That's what's happening now - the realignment and re-centering of the obscene stupidity of the "free trade" globalists of the last 40 years that has gutted and destroyed America's manufacturing base and ability. That idiot Larry Summers (who helped ruin the US under Clinton) was at it again yesterday defending the concept even after seeing its terrible results.

As Ross Perot warned "free Trade" was a massive recipe for disaster. Those supporting the status quo - and not the emergency realignment support the continual decline and destruction of what little manufacturing base we have left. And the extremist environmental movement - where in the previous Administration we saw them move to buying oil from MORE polluting countries (such as Venezuela) so they could virtue-signal on reducing US ability to actually use (notice I said use - they tied up the fake permits they gave out in environmental reviews making them impossible to use) the issued oil permits in the US where there are strict environmental regulations.

Look how helpless we were to get our generic drugs during the China Virus when there was a massive drug shortage because China produced all the drugs and the US had virtually no such ability. THAT should have been a wake up call for needing to bring mfg back into this country on all levels. Unfortunately it seems some people still have their head in the sand an instead want to support other countries continual ripping off America. THAT is common sense and seeing what is going on around us and NOT a parrot of the MSM idiots who hate America, hate Exceptionalism (DEI = Didn't Earn It) and hate earned merit more than our enemies do. If China was smart they'd lay low and let the MSM idiots and their followers continue to destroy America and China can sit back and watch and laugh at the emotional idiots over here fire-bombing Tesla's and attacking Jewish students at the US universities. So much for the "never forget" the holocaust line.

Well you just prove you know even less about global economics than you know about audio. Have you ever left the country?

LOL. Ah yes - the typical when you can't have an intelligent conversation you rely on personal attacks. A perfect text-book play - but predictable - from Rules for Radicals. When I see comments like yours, I know the conversation has been won. :) Such a sad life to be like that.
