Suncoast Audio welcomes Audio Research

Is that the VT80 amp? How is it compared let’s say the Ref75 or Ref110?
The wattage difference I know but....
I really don’t understand the pecking order of the amp line up.

Yes, it's the VT80. The REF75SE is better for sure. KT150 vs KT120 alone. The REF75SE is one of my favorite ARC pieces ever. If you have efficient speakers, it's truly world class.

I'm sitting here in amazement. This REF6 is truly magnificent. I'm an unapologetic ARC fan. Always have been, always will be. I cannot believe how quiet and good this ARC setup sounds.

Looks like you're having a lot of fun! Would be interested in your impressions of the ARC Ref 3 Phono when you get one. Thanks.

IMO the ARC Ref 6 is the single best component ARC makes right now. Too bad the italians fired the guy who had designed it. Their strategic planning at its best.

I'm debating between the REF3 phono and the REF10 phono. I'm hoping someone who has compared both can chime in.

I want to know how the VT80 sounds with KT150 ?!!!

I suspect it will be better than the Ref 75SE

The characteristics of the KT150's shines through. Big bold sound. Big bass.

I’ve only heard modern ARC gear twice, last year, in New Orleans. It was fantastic. Ref6 Pre and Ref150 amp with KT150 along with CD9. Wow. Speakers were the diminutive System Audio Pandion 30. The bass was simply mind blowing which I also attribute to the kt150. Those dual 5” drivers conjured an incredible low end that I could never imagine coming out of a 40 lb speaker.

I have the Ref 10 with the Anniversary pre and believe the separate power supplies are very important
Amplification is the ref250 se
I still think the Ref 3 phono is very good have not heard in my system
Good luck Mike

Hi Rance,

Are you using these on the JBL 4367? How do you like the sound?

Yes sir! And so for these speakers the 75 SE seems to be plenty of juice.

Sounds very nice right out of the gate! Of course I'll be really interested in how they sound after they run in for awhile, but I'm already pleased.

I know that you and I have spoken a few times about ARC Joe, but it's taken me this long to get off my butt and make a move! Mike sealed the deal with his strong endorsement of the combo.

As the REF10, REF6 and VT80 approach 500 hours, I remain amazed by the sonic prowess of Audio Research gear. There is no one who could confuse ARC with typical tube equipment flaws (flabby bass, etc). The ARC gear excels in all categories offering strong bass, control, resolution, detail and a good dose of tube harmonic richness.

Again, I remain an unapologetic ARC fan!

As a "new to the fold" ARC owner - REF 6 and REFERENCE 75 SE now at over 400 hours - I concur.

Sitting here listening to Sinatra "Songs For Swinging' Lovers", which I've heard countless times, and I'm bowled over at how involving it sounds.
