Stillpoints on Carpet; Spikes

FYI -

Both Ultra SS and Ultra 5s can now be used with spikes that we are providing for each product.

The beveled half of the Ultra 5 now has a 1/2-20 tap in which a special bullet spike can be attached. The spike pierces carpet/pad and settles on the hard surface below providing increased stability and performance.

Just this week we received our first shipment of bullet spikes designed to attach to either 1/4-20 tap on the bottom or pad of the Ultra SS for the same purpose. We have yet to ship any of these spikes as we sort out final marketing/packaging issues, but we have the product and are taking orders.

Yes, I use one on my SME 20/2 and it is superior to the SME clamp. I highly recommend it. When not in use on your turntable, it can bring sonic benefits by careful placement on your preamp or other source components.
 
Is the stillpoints clamp threaded & screw down onto the spindle or just sits over the spindle?
 
Hello Allvinyl, I'm glad you've joined the forum. I was first introduced to StillPoints at RMAF 2013 during the Room Setup demo with Roy Gregory. I was blown away at the performance Improvement demonstrated. I purchased the last set from a local dealer the last day of the show and have not looked back since.

I am now running Ultra SS under my speakers (Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Concert Grands) , ARC VS-115, LS27, and Ref 2. They really seem to pair well with ARC gear. Diid I mention I'm penniless and supplement my living on the street by panhandling since becoming addicted to StillPoints? (yeah but my music sounds damn good though!) I'm targeting power distribution, TT and CD next. As soon as I can sell a few more bottles and recyclables :-)

Question; have you heard of anyone using StillPoints under a Linn TT or directly under any TT for that matter? I'll soon integrate an LP-12 in my system and asked someone who owns one and he did not think it was a workable situation at all since Linn's suspension is fine tuned and requires specific knowledge to set up. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Sorry but with the Linn suspension
Is worth less and I also don't recommend to use the clamp, too much weight for the motor
 
Thanks highEndguy. I'm always intrigued by your posts and some of the installations you display. I assume they are customer installations of systems you sold? Very high end indeed!
