I had the Ultra 5s in my hand at the HiFi Show late last year. They were chunky & heavy. Cam offered to leave them behind....Now you all have me thinking about them again. :lookatthat:
I hate you Nelson. Lol
Can someone measure the diameter of the ultra 5's. I didn't notice a measurement on their website.
John
3 inches.

You are very mean Paul
Hahahahah
Paul, just a thought, but before putting them under your speakers you may want to take them out of your system altogether for a few days for you to become acclimated to the sound without them. That way when you introduce them back in you'll get a real gauge for the "new" sound.
+1. Under the speakers is like audio drugs that you can't get enough of.
I want to try some Ultra SS's under my Cary CAD 211 FE amps (did I mention how much I love these amps with the Psvane Replica tubes?.) However, I've been told I need to take the amps apart to get at the bolts that secure the feet. My thinking is that tube amps and tube preamps would be very susceptible to vibration build up because of the delicate microphonic nature of tubes themselves and the fact they are sitting right next to the speakers on a subfloor!
The next step would be my big power conditioners. Then preamp, phonostage and then sources.
What I am also curious about is how the Ultra SS's compare to the Ultra 5. The Ultra 5's add up quickly.

Damn you, Paul. And the rest of you are bad influences too. $700 on 4 stainless steel pucks? And supposedly I got a great deal. :disbelief:
