StillPoint Ultra 5's

I'm a bit intrigued about these things, but I can find very little info about how they actually work. What is in the middle of them? Are they small points or bearings? Are they heavy? Is there anything in the middle of the cylinders?

Audiodeske and Ultra 5s. Money well spent. It's the sonic difference that matters. If paying a guy named Mitch to sit outside my room improved the sonics of my system I would pay a guy named Mitch to sit outside my room to make my system sound better. It's all about the music. I trust my ears.

If you live in a nice warm climate, I can be Mitch.

Good to hear. Are you using the Ultra SS under your speakers ?
Hello Paul, sorry to just now respond to your question, I had to travel for a few days. Yes I use the Ultra SS under my speakers. I ordered the correct shaft to fit the footing area of my speakers. Contact the folks at StillPoint and they can tell you the nearest dealer to buy them from as I don't believe they sell direct. The performance improvement of my speakers was amazing after adding them.

Nelson, have you or your customers (or any fellow sharks) found a way to try Stillpoints under an AMG v12? With the spiked feet of the AMG I'm wondering how that might work? (vs. using the custom HRS base?)

The Ulta 5s are fairly heavy. The Ultra SS feel very sturdy but not what I would call heavy.

I believe they use a ball bearing type of thing.

The Ultra SS's have 1 of these "ball bearing type of thing" in them. The Ultra 5's have 5 of these "ball bearing type thing" mechanisms.

The Ultra SS's have 3 of these "ball bearing type of thing" in them. The Ultra 5's have 5 of these "ball bearing type thing" mechanisms.

Each pocket of technology have 10 bearings and each pocket of technology have 4 planes so the Ultra 5 have 20 planes total and the Ultra SS have 4 and 1 pocket of tech.

They are not accessories they are as good as a new amp.

4k for a RCM ?

25k for a pairs of speakers cables that will not last 5 years in your room?

Stillpoints will stay in your room
For ever !!!!!
Agree...there are certain components I find 'just work'...HRS, Ultra 5s, Nordost QX4 immediately come to mind. I do not see them leaving. The rest of the electronics now constitute my 'Dream List' so they will be here for some time, but not necessarily 'forever'.

Nelson you are right, I just checked my SS's & 5's, thanks for the heads up & I have edited my post above to contain the right info.

You guys are killing me with all these awesome reviews. I think if I'm going to add them to my speakers I need to have made 24 inch x 24 inch piece of carpet 1/4 inch thick so I can access to slide these monsters by myself if needed as well as protected my mahogany hardwood floors. There's only 3 spikes on my TAD's. Has anyone ever heard or seen pictures of the TAD's on Stillpoint Ultra 5's. Do you think having only 3 ultras instead of 4 under a speaker will be less profound?

I prefer 3 because is more easy to balance.
With the Ultra 5 is not hard to slide them but I recommend you to put sliders on the bottom
of the 5's, if you need them to slide more smooth
