SR HFTs

Based on what objective (or even subjective) data or measurements? All you have presented is a hypothesis; until you present any evidence, that's exactly what it is, a hypothesis.

Myles, I'm basing my statement (which IS a declarative statement regardless if it's a hypothesis, fact, fiction or opinion) on the posts that have disagreed with my posts here. While it may not be a fact, a consensus can be subjective, even incorrect, but there is agreement with a consensus. ;) So maybe I'm NOT a pain in the ass in this thread!

[Myles] I would go further and say all it has been is a scream for attention.

Michael, please don't take all this so seriously.

Yes, as they say great men think alike but fools seldom differ! :)

Here you go, Bob

Keep in mind, this is 8 MM in diameter and 8 MM tall. THAT'S IT.

See it next to a fuse for a size comparison.

Thx Gary. ...You simply position them atop your speakers? ...And the connections? ...Wi-Fi?

* Are those good up to 100kHz?

<<>> Jesus Christ, they are indeed so ever very small! ...Looks like they come from inside a smartphone. ...A Mini one.

BOB, it's so ridiculous. They give you stuff called "Blu-Tac" which is a slightly adhesive but removable putty to attach them. My daughter used that stuff when she was five years old to stick glow in the dark stars on her bedroom ceiling. In their Youtube, the company says you can also use double stick tape to attach the HFT's.

You position them around the room. Some on your speakers, some on the walls. They are passive devices. No power to them, no electronic output, no WiFi, NOTHING.

They are small. MUCH smaller than the fingertip on your little finger. At $300 for a five-pack, it's quite a windfall for the company.

The more you know, the more obvious they are the emperor's new clothes.

Sounds a little fishy.

If they were bigger, given the concave shape, I could accept some sound altering diffusing aspect of their behavior, but anytime I hear marketeers talking quantum anything my bullshit antenna goes crazy. I hear a lot of this "quantum" nonsense dealing with snake oil salesmen in the arena of purified water which I've worked with now for 30 years. Usually, the only "quantum" is the quantum leap needed to believe these folks - who use techno-babble to dazzle and confuse others who have no capacity for critical thinking.

I've not tested these little SR products, and it is not likely I will. I am much more inclined to spend my hard earned money on items that have proven measurable results - not just to a few human ears, but to instruments capable of calculating real differences. There are plenty of genuine products available that don't require me to read "The Dancing Wu Li Masters" so I can appreciate their amazing quantum-ness.

I was a reluctant power cable convert before adding Shunyatas to my system. But Caelin Gabriel of shunyata has the science and background, and instrumentation, to show why his products make a difference. And he hasn't asked me to believe something at the quantum edge. While I may not comprehend the full extent of his science, it is within the limits of known physical phenomena. (And in the world of hi-end, they keep offering more for the $$.)

Ok, I'm starting to get the hang of it now; it's stuff like that that discourages me to start my own company. ;)

* I just didn't know what exactly this thread was about; that's why I started enquiring. Now no real need to explore further...

I'm sometimes disappointed by what's happening in my lovely hobby.

Surprising how quickly this thread has turned into a slew of uninformed opinion and speculation. I don't render verdicts on gear/equipment unless I have experience with it/them.

To think of all the time and resources I could have saved if all I needed to do was to listen to a few internet posters render judgment. I must be retarded since I actually try products. I'll be sure to ring the savants and "know-it-alls" next time.

Michael, I give you the physical experience over my own belief without real experimentation.

Could you please try to convince me, and others, in your own words? ...With supported links it could help too.
I'm open, to any science even inexplicable ones. If your ears can hear a difference for the better, my respect for you will incite me to research intelligently and with firmness. I got the time...

This is new territory to me, and I have great respect for Gary as well. I won't judge till a final conviction, and with the awareness that I had never yet experimented with them SR HFT - super HF transducers.

With the highest regards that I have for you, Gary, and all the Shark members.

I agree. It's a shame that unconscionable companies are subverting hyperimpressionable people who will buy anything based on ludicrous claims in the hopes of tweaking their system.

A real tweak produces a measurable and blind-testable change. Otherwise emotional insecurity that you're missing something takes over and you're just spending money on something that makes you feel better. You might just as well shine a flashlight on your tweeters to make a brighter sound or use yellow light bulbs for a warmer sound.
