When buying speakers I always get hopelessly confused about what I want. Yesterday I spend some time listening to the Blumenhofer FS3mkII. It's a wonderful dynamic speakers. It was powered by a pass int60a, Aurender n10 and I think a meitner dac. The sound was dynamic and fun to listen to. However compared to some other speakers in the same price range it lacked some lower bass. Maybe because it's a two way horn.
Also speaker like the Raidho C1 and D1 are much more accurate or detailed. But don't give the live experience and dynamics the Blumenhofer gives. However few speakers image better and give a more coherent sound then two way stand mounts.
Big three way speakers give better bass impact but often sound less coherent multiway speakers require more intricate filters which do not always help in terms of coherency and accuracy.
so when listening to say Simon and Garfunkel a Raidho C1 would be great. Blumenhofer for rock and metal. And something like a watt puppy 6/7 for UB40.
So are there affordable speakers that can do all. I know I should set a priority. And at the moment I'm not really looking for new speakers. But just thinking about it drives me nuts.
