Hello,
My speakers are Franco Serblin Ktema and my amplifier is Boulder 865 integrated.
I would like to hear about what speaker cable are a good match for Ktema.
Anyone have tried different cables with Ktema? Thoughts?

thanks
Richard

Welcome to the forum Richard.

Have not heard the Franco Serblins so can not recommend anything specific. Do you have them ? or did you just purchased them ? and what is the rest of your system ? as that might help with the recommendations.

I have them since almost two years with Boulder integrated amplifier, MBL CD-player, Sansei TU-X1 tuner, Siltech princess XLR,
Speaker cables are just 50 bucks no-brand cable.

Thats is for sure a really great system you have. Do you feel it is sonically to dark or bright or do you think you lack information ?

I myself has just started my real journey starting with NordOst Power Cords which has really made a difference so much better.
By the way i do have Yter Speaker cables which comes from the same " farther " as your loudspeakers. But i have to say that with even better cabling you can go a really long way. To my surplice power cords is the way to start if these are not already addressed as well as good Power distributor.
Here on the forum it seems that many do also like the Ansuz cables.

If you have a dealer , that can lend you cables that is for sure the way to go. otherwise its not easy. What made me choose Nordost was a combination , from hearing presentations on youtube, ( where i could easily hear a difference ) and to a local dealer who happened to have Nordost that he was letting me try out at home. And i was really shocked. In a good way :-)

I not sure I can say if its bright or dark. I just want to take my system to a higher level.
For Power Cords I think I will demo Hijiri Takumi.

I dont know the Hijiri Takumi but i will for sure advise you ti try out some brands that are known to deliver, as they normally deliver what they say. But do not stay in a too low level.

If i had to choose myself in the Nordost range i would have thought that the Nordost Heimdall 2 would be more than enough , but have to say that in my case the Frey 2 seems to be the level i am starting out at. Can only imagine what i would get trying higher levels. And why is it that i say the power cords from the Frey 2 line is this good starting point ? well simply put i did buy a Heimdall 2 which sounds good but seems to lack that foot tapping experience.
With just 1 Frey 2 in the chain my feet keeps tapping the floor. I can not say why , its just how it is.

Why not try the cable that Franco himself developed during the design of Stradivari: Yter? The raw cable was used in early Strads. I believe (not sure) that Yter is used inside Ktema. I would suggest that you listen to Yter for your interconnect and speaker cable at the same time.

Second that. I have used Yter and they are much more reasonably priced than other brands. The Ktema is a great speaker and would be my first choice if I was to choose a smaller speaker.
