Hey there !

I finally bought my first Lumin!!! Lumin U1 Mini. I am very happy about it ! It works like a charm with my existing system.

I have some suggestions for you:
1- Improve the display of airplay: when playing a song through airplay, I noticed that the artist, the name of the song and time are not displayed on the front panel. Other devices (Marantz ND8006) can display this info. Any chance to make this happen?
2- Once I added a network library, Lumin organizes the library and the app shows many tabs: songs, artists, albums, genres... Any chance to make the user choose what tab should be shown and what tab should be hidden (like the composer tab for instance).

Best.

Suggestions:
3- Is there any chance to launch a hardware remote control ? Or has anyone managed to control Lumin devices using a hardware programmable remote control?
4- Is there any chance to have a notification on the lock screen of iPad/iPhone when music is played on the lumin using the lumin app ? Just like the Sonos app

Thanks for the suggestions.

For Lumin the iOS device is treated as a remote. For existing Lumin models, since they lack any sort of infrared or bluetooth receiver, a traditional remote is not likely to be supported.

Sure. Just like Sonos devices have not any infrared or bluetooth receivers. But Sonos managed to make its devices work with Logitech Harmony for example (Bluesound and Heos devices too work with Logitech). And if infrared and bluetooth are not involved, what can it be? Maybe network control points progammed inside Logitech smart control hub.

I sold my Lumin A1 to a friend, he lent me his Oppo Sonica DAC until I got my new streamer Lumin. The Sonica DAC app is so sensillo, organized and easy to use that it gives pleasure. The Lumin app works very well on my ipad, but when I delete the list played there starts the problem (for example it does not recognize my external hard drive) I have to turn off and turn on the Lumin to work.

What about +6db playing DSD ?

For Lumin U1 or any Lumin digital output, this feature is already present when you use Lumin DSD to PCM conversion by enabling volume control in U1 or setting re-sampling options.

When I have an album up on the screen is there a way to highlight the tracks that I like so that when I go back to this album I don't have to play all the tracks again to get to the ones I like?
I don't really wan't to make a playlist for this.

I'm not sure what the Lumin app can do but you can always re-tag the favorite songs using a free program like MP3 Tag. Would not be hard to change the track names and add something that tells you these are your favorites (e.g. add '-L' after the track name to designate you like it or just have the title in all capitals). If you use alternative software (I don't) with the Lumin App like JRiver, JRiver has the stars one can add in a separate field.

As Phil said, you may look into other control points to see which offer the functionality for favorites - I believe Lumin players support the widest control point software UI. I think Roon does, but I'm not sure, and it costs $699.

I just love the possibility of turning off the network led lights! Lumin is probably the only one in the world which has this switch. Thank you.

Yes, all our recent models have the capability to have network LED turned off, even though this is not advertized. (By the way, I also met an experienced audiophile who physically cut all the LED from his network switch.)

Interesting, saw the option in settings but didn't address it
Did anyone hear any difference in SQ with LED on/off?

No difference in sound quality for me, but I’ve wondered if the front display could add “noise” to the output (USB in my case). So I keep the display off most of the time too.
