Very Funny

You really think Harry W is going to design a belt drive more expensive and better performing than his 30K Classic direct drive?

Not a hope in hell

Never said it was enter or not . But this is the table sitting in his main system at his home in jersey and is set to release as there top model in 2015 , matt also has posted the info . So we can visit the post and the "no chance in hell comment" on the release date cause with the outboard power regenerator as it ops it's in the pic will be ;) ..

Theres is no way for me to answer if it will perform better or not cause it's still in beta but I can say I have had a classic direct and this new table sounded pretty dam good, it's not finished yet so only time will tell , as far as no chance in it being more expensive again price is not set in stone but as you see it in the pic with the power upgrade . Looking at current prices for the arms and options that are on it I'm guessing depending on the options chosen 25k for just table , 40k+ as you see it with the 2 arms ring , weight , power center , not including carts .. Again just an educated guess but it's more likly then "not a chance in hell"

I agree that if they put the new direct drive motor on it then they might be able to attract the "modern design" crowd over the "more traditional design" crowd that might be considering his current top of the line table based on looks alone. But as a belt drive I can't see the justification of a price approaching his current direct drive table.

I find VPI's direction of late very interesting. A $40,000 VPI table....never thought I would see it. And how much better is it then a Classic 3 with a 3D arm?

My Classic 3 with JMW arm is still sounding great and I found Fremer's recent "test" results rather interesting. VPI Tonearm Comparison: File Identities Revealed! | Analog Planet

Without knowing the results, I ran the test myself and I too picked "A".

Interesting that the Periphery Ring is sitting on the platter-lip and not the LP itself for coupling purposes.

That's only because the record is not exactly 12 inches in diameter and the ring slipped past it. Happens with maybe 1/100 or 1/200 records. Usually audiophile LPs actually with Classic Records and early Analogue Productions pressed at RTI being the worst offenders. It is really annoying though.
