Snappers!!!

Thanks Mike , I had decided to not buy the granite amps and not buy the solid state amp(bryston). And I decided to save up a little more cash and buy new snappers off Jeff . Next day I saw a pair of used for the exact amt I had saved. It was made to be!!!

Thanks Kev

I was wondering if someone can help me one of the pics above has the multimeter that came with the amps. I'm a moron and I don't know how to use it and I want to put the groove tubes in the amps. And i need that to bias them. I don't even know what setting or what holes to plug the blk and red wires into. It's foreign to me! The biasing part is easy .thanks

Snappers bias at 300mV DC.....

Its printed behind the tubes on the top chassis.....

Set the volt meter to mV DC and make sure the value is set higher than 300mV :) then insert the probe (black) into the tiny hole located at the front of the amp, it labeled (ground) then insert the red probe in the tiny hole located towards the back labeled (bias), adjust one at a time until your close to 300mV.....easy!!

A few pointers when biasing.....always have a load on the amp meaning the speakers connected to the amp or you can hurt the trannies......also when you adjust one of the bias points it will effect the other so its a go back and fourth a few times until you get them all pretty close. Don't stress if there not all identical, they can be a mV or two off from each other. Check the bias for a few day's for drift then if they are pretty stable go ahead and re-check in a week just to make sure all is well.

thanks jeff but i specifically pointed out in my above post "im a moron"!!
lmao!! anyway i don have any setting on this meterthat gets me near the number 300. i put it in the holes then spin the dial around . the only setting that is near is the one that im showing in the pic. and thats real low like 160 or less on everything. the tubes hat are in it when shipped are the originals. i got jj's and groove tubes to replac em with . im gonna shut it down and let it cool and put in the groovetubes first see what the meter says. and thanks for your help :)

Thanks guys I just realized it was 9 pm. I been listening all day.
I'm sitting here sweating cause the noise from my a/c is ruining that great sound.
So it's been off. Think I'm ready to put up a preliminary review.
Joe manley gear is very nice!! Up next .... Steelhead!!!after the speakers lol.
Allen your not too far anytime you want to come give a listen just let me know.

excellent.....I would have responded earlier but our power was off for about six hours today, transformer blew on our street and were having a 106 degree day :( anyway sounds like you doing good :)

Oh wow Jeff way too hot to not have power. You need a big generator to keep all that equip running. Lol.
I put the dial to the setting 2000m in the dcv section of that meter and the new tubes read all in the 100-200 range. So i used that setting. It also read numbers even lower under the 200k setting. Maybe I should have used that?.
Not sure if I used the right one but once I biased every one it sounded incredible
So I figured I did it right. Ill recheck em later today. Thank you!!
