Should you plug the Gryphon or any other heavily regulated power amps straight to wall?

Do you think by this statement the Diablo 300 should be plugged in to wall and not to an external conditioner like Denali etc etc
Also their manual states the interconnects should not be used as equalizers to correct errors otherwise in the system so does that mean products like Mit and the new Shunyata that have these little modification boxes in line should not be used also?
I imagine ultimately it would be up to the individuals taste.
Maybe I will get answers to these questions at SunCoast Audio’s Gryphon/Shunyata Event today! Yep shameless plug! :dancing:
 
Please let me know what you find out! Am home auditioning the Diablo this week!
 
Philip/Fleming say no. Grant says yes. [emoji41]. Grant explained that there is nothing that would limit current in any Shunyata product.

You already know my position on this , I'm with fleming , Power amps straight to the wall , always ..

Picking up on this fairly late.

So the power supply kit in the Diablo will do what my AQ Nigara 5000 does? I tested and to my ears the Diablo sounded a little better being run thru the Niagara.
 
Caveat to last comment: Unlike my speaker cables, interconnects, and ethernet cables (all of which I blind tested, multiple times), I did not blind test the Niagara and the AQ Tornado power cables.

I would go with the advice from the people who designed the Gryphon amps. Gryphon is not alone in recommending their products be plugged straight into a wall outlet.
 
I say go by your ears. D'Agostino says my M400's should go direct to the wall. They sound better connected via the Denali. Until my ears tell me differently that is how they will stay.

Interesting. How much time did you spend listening to them plugged straight into the wall before you plugged them into the Denali?
 
Well the M300's were plugged directly into the wall for over 3 years before I added the Denali. Based on those results the M400's have only spent about an hour connected directly to the wall.
 
Ultimately, the “go by you ears” point is correct, of course.

Is interesting that most/all (?) amp manufacturers recommend straight to wall. The cynic in me says that they would say that... Anyone know a company (maybe there are lots) who do amps and power products? If so, I wonder what they say about this.
 
I had my M400s each plugged into a separate denali and preferred that over being plugged into the wall.

On the other hand, the Diablo I like plugged into the wall using a Shunyata Typhon into the other plug instead of using the Denali.

So - you just have to listen and see.

I have a Typhon QR on order to use with the Diablo plugging it into the Typhon QR - so we will see how that fits in with the other choices when it arrives.
 
IMO it is in the amplifier manufacturers' strong interests to make the 'safe' recommendation to plug their imps directly into the wall because at least some power conditioning products will cause a decrease in amplifier performance in at least some user environments. And the manufacturers surely don't have the time or resources to test and recommend only some conditioning products, given the wide variation in these products, user system/configurations and power environments.

You have answered your own question.Using your Niagara has changed the sound to your preference.Others will hear the difference and prefer the wall.The last thing you would want is power being restricted using a re generator or conditioner. I myself prefer the wall for my Vitus 025 then the PS Audio 10..

I too subscribe to "direct into the wall" camp.

We all realize that a top notch powercord plugged into the wall delivers the highest current and most direct connection, but how do you get all the benefits of multi stage filtering without adding even a single additional solder joint or break in the line compared to a high current power cord? Well, I have been searching for this very thing for a very long time. Well guess what, it is available. How about 7 stages of filtering AND power factor correction at the same time with all parts in 100% parallel connection.

I use them throughout my entire system, including on the Boulder 3060!
