My tinnitus is a curse without a cure. A built in 2674 Hz, C4, test tone.

In 20 minutes I have to leave any room that contains sound that is distorted, loud and/or noisy.

The masking effect of crystal clear music heard at moderate volumes is a great joy and relief.
Traditional acoustic jazz combos, small classical ensembles, female vocals from pop to opera, classical guitar, are my first choice.

Finding truly great recordings is the greatest challenge in this hobby.

I really enjoy visiting audiophiles in the Houston, Texas area, but, be warned, I am a terribly sensitive detector of poor acoustics, poor quality recordings, and distorted reproductions.

So sorry for your tinnitus. Thank goodness for the times you receive some relief.

I know the tinnitus feeling, as I have it in my right ear. Fortunately, it is only noticible in quiet environments, and is masked by regular 'noise'. I suspect it is from blasting music in headphones in the 90s, but there could be other reasons. Once it started occurring I started to pay attention to noise, and I think/hope this prevented it from getting worse. Now I listen to loud Metal for 3-4 hours with no ill effect, but avoid headphones. Take care, and watch your hearing. At least for now, it is all we have.

I've had tinnitus since the early 80's. Playing in a rock band and drag racing caused mine. You just learn to live with it as there is NO cure. mine is measured around 7500 - 11000 hz in the right ear.

Lenire is a tinnitus treatment. They don't claim to cure it, but do claim to improve things. So far I haven't read anything absolutely rejecting their claims, although there is plenty of doubt.
