For those waiting for release of Schiit's statement DAC, here is the company's official announcement as well as a few links from other sites on this new release...

Schiit announcement: Schiit Audio, Headphone amps and DACs made in USA.

Ultra High End: Schiit Unviels Flagship Yggdrasil DAC | Ultra High-End Audio and Home Theater Review
Digital Audio Review: At last! Schiit release multi-bit Yggdrasil DAC | DAR

This has a very different implementation. Does not use typical Delta Sigma DACs. Uses 4 20-bit AD DACs and an AD SHARC DSP engine that feeds the DACs. Also uses USB 3.0 input receiver. Does not do DSD. Priced at $2,299 with 15-day money back guarantee return policy.

Nobody gives a schiit about Schiit! Ain't that some...

...schiiiit :D

That's why I went with Yggi which is how they refer to it at the company...

My guess is Yggi is going to punch way above its price. Waiting to see first reviews.

May be awhile on the reviews, supposedly the company has taken the stance that if a reviewer wants one he will have to buy it. Whether that will apply to Darko is yet to be seen.

Interesting...did not know that. Well they do have a 15-day money back guarantee so a reviewer can get one, burn it in for 100 hours in the first 4-5 days and review it over the next 9 days and then return it, I guess. :D

Well, either they have been burned before or it's just that this unit is a rather expensive piece for them, I don't know. They are not the first company with that policy though.
