My wife and I saw the Roy Hargrove Quintet at the Blue Note in NYC tonight. It was a terrific performance. He is by far my favorite trumpet player. He plays most of his ballads on the Flugelhorn and up tempo music on the trumpet. He even sang one song and has a pretty good voice. Jazz in the Key of Blue is one of my favorite albums.

Wish I had more time in Manhattan last time I was their to find the places to go to. You guys are so lucky to have these venues. I hope they remain for the next generation etc.

Wow Ken. I'm so jealous. I'd to love to hear the Hargrove Quintet live!

Hi Le Roy,

Yes, it was really fun. We had great seats and they played a really full set. Roy would go into the next song without even stopping. Their piano player was so terrific that I shook his hand at the end of the set. I love small venues like Blue Note, Birdland and Village Vanguard.

Best,
Ken
