Hi Everyone.
I'm itching to spin some records, found a table within my budget and I don't know anything about.
So any comment or direction to help me to find a right table would greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Trung

I answered Trung via PM...the table deal he is looking at is a SCREAMING deal but when its TOO screaming, I find it suspect..SO I asked him...what's wrong with it...

There is always a pricetag on a free lunch...you just have to look for it

Should be a winner at the price, but figure spending up to $275 on a new OEM stylus for an 8 year old table that was used much. At $425 it's not such a screaming deal, but there are options like a cheaper ($168) stylus from KAB. That puts it back in the very good deal range.

I basically told him screaming deal...It about a grand worth of stuff...but an 8 year old cart...still for $150..not bad ..as long as everything is operational..Might need a belt and a stylus...

Nobody can get more out of a budget turntable than Rob! He can get you into vinyl magic with a small, reasonable budget.

Money send. :woot:
Thank you everyone for the help.
Any comment, tip are welcome.
A lot of question will be ask soon. ;)

Congrats, Trung! Can't wait to see what music you start collecting on vinyl! I love your musical taste and discovered a number of artists from you!:audiophile:

Congrats on the new adventure Trung. If after inspecting the stylus or having it done you have any doubt I would set that cartridge aside. Due to the limited number of dealers for Goldring in this country and the type of line contact stylus involved, you can buy any number of fine new cartridges for the $275 price of that stylus. Sometimes if someone is new to vinyl and setup, it is wise to find a good sounding less expensive cartridge to hone your skills with before jumping into the higher price cartridges with both feet unless you are going to have someone else do it. I have tried, owned or still own many of the popular "budget" cartridges and will be glad to help you if you need, based on the rest of your equipment and musical tastes. Again good luck and hope the TT turns out to be as described.

"protractor" there are an apps for that. :satisfying:
Wondering if it work with tablet. :roflmao:
Thanks for the tip. (what's the protractor does?).
Time for Google.

Rob (ohbythebay) says I make the best phono cartridge alignment protractor on Earth and who am I to argue? There's an ongoing discussion on them right hear on this site. You can download and print out a universal protractor from the Vinyl Engine site and there's about a dozen listings on Ebay as well. Assuming the cartridge is mounted correctly, you won't need to realign it until you change the cartridge. Then you'll need some form of protractor or gauge. If the table is shipped correctly, the counterweight will be removed, so you'll need a scale to reset the tracking force. I use this one Amazon.com: American Weigh Scale Minicd-100 Digital Pocket Scale, 100 X 0.01 G: Health & Personal Care
