It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our Golden Retriever, Sadie.

Sadie was a well-traveled and cultured 13 1/2 year old. Having lived in the US Virgin Islands, Both Florida Coasts, Key West, and MN. Her travels allowed her to enjoy swimming in the Caribbean sea, Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. After moving back to Minnesota in 2016, Sadie enjoyed playing in the back yard, woods, and occasionally jumped in the lake behind our house when no one was looking.

She enjoyed car rides of any kind - whether running up to the hardware store or cross country road trips. She never met a stuffed toy she couldn’t destroy within minutes, and never met a human she didn’t try to lick to death.**She was a sweetest and most caring dog anyone could imagine, and used that temperament to bring smiles and comfort to the residents of Presbyterian Homes over the past year during her weekly visits.

Our family will greatly miss the love and affection she consistently gave.

Fare thee well Sadie.

My heart goes out to you. My 13 1/2 year old Jack Russell (Gizmo) is fading fast.
They truly are a part of the family. They just don't live long enough.
Time is the great healer but it doesn't help the current pain.
Lots of walks and keeping busy helps pass the time to get your thoughts in a better space. And maybe some good tunes.

I am so sorry for your loss. All of us dog lovers know how difficult this time is for you and your family.

I just lost my own beloved 13 year old Pug a few days ago.
They take a piece of your heart with them, I think.
Honor their life and memory, and tincture of time.
My deepest condolences.

I know how much it hurts to lose a wonderful dog like Sadie.

We lost our 14 1/2 year old Yellow Lab, Willow in June.

My
sympathies to your family.

Kyle,

I am so very sorry. It's difficult to say goodbye. What a beautiful dog.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is a terrible, painful experience. I still tear up when I think of my three dogs. While the pain never really goes away, it does get better over time. Take care, and don't let this experience stop you from getting another pet.

I've been there, sorry for you. It's a tough decision.

My condolences too. My wife and I have been married for 39 years and we have had dogs for 38 of those years. It never gets easier to do what's right and put them down when we know we should. We currently have 3 dogs as we just put Vinnie Bag of Doughnuts down before we moved to TN in Aug of 2017. The vet gave him two weeks to live and he lived another 9 very good months before the cancer finally took its toll. My heart goes out to you and your family.

We now have 4 dogs, having just acquired a 10 wk old puppy, and have gone through the process of losing one 3 times in the past few years. It never gets any easier. We had planned to get this puppy a couple of months ago when one of our older dogs had a long, debilitating illness which the vets said was going to be the end. We had actually made an appointment for euthenasia, but beginning the day before he began to rally, and now 2 months later he has almost completely recovered, although no one can explain how this happened. Regardless, we just look at it as a miracle and take it day by day; the new puppy seems to be rejuvenating our older dog even more.

So just recently I went through the grieving process in anticipation, so to speak, and could hardly believe how painful it was. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Phishphan, sincere condolences; I feel your pain. We had to put down our Poodle a couple of years ago, and I'm dreading the day when we'll probably need to 'help' our wonderful 14-year old Labradoodle.

So sorry to read this news, Kyle is it?

Good for you guys to have had such a special friend to share everything with over the past 13 years. What a beautiful girl.

That moment of unconditional love & the realisation that you hold the best years of their life in your hands. The trust they show you with the knowledge they are safe. The soul searching pragmatism that totally destroys your equilibrium, when you know, beyond doubt, that the final walk is their last call. I miss everyone of my past animals, but I would never do wrong by them..

I´m sorry for you.
Dogs are fantastic and golden retriever are particular sweet .
All they want is to play, especial with kids.
Sometimes i have to save mine from the kids... :D
