There is an auto off function in the Lumin app, just want to see how many Lumin user power off their Lumin by pressing the main switch or just leave it as auto off? Some people suggest just leave the auto off on all time instead of turning on and off the power switch since the Lumin can run all day long without any issue.

I use the auto off on my A1.
By doing so it just goes to sleep (minimum power consumption) without disruption of the main power.
This keeps the circuitry partially active, avoiding warm up and on/off cycles. Both of which are negatives with electronic equipment.

Don't know if your A1 is the same as my T2 but I think my T2 uses 15 watts in standby which isn't great.

I never turn off my S1 (formerly) and X1 (current). They do go into the stand by mode.

As a network player it cannot do low power standby without sacrificing network discovery and wakeup, as in OpenHome protocol used by Lumin app and required by Roon Ready certification.

Guys. Thanks so much for all your input. I will leave it on auto off mode instead of switch the power button on and off all the time.

Btw, does anyone of you replace the stock power cord to any branded power cord? Any obvious improvement on the musical perspective?

@Wklie: So if I leave my T2 go into standby on its own, it will use the same power (15watts I think) if I turned the T2 off using the app?
Is the same thing happening when using the app and letting my T2 go into standby on its own: whichever is used my T2 goes into standby?

Hello, yes, for my ears there is a difference, for my Lumin A1 I used the Purist Audio Vesta, now for the X1 I use Shunyata Venom NR V10. Both are excellent cables, but in this case I prefer the Shunyata.

I got the D2 but using the stock cable only. What are the characteristics for Shunyata? I am more prefer to warmth sound perspective. More musical feeling than emphasis on analytical. Thanks

Yes! Shunyata power products significantly lower the noise floor by removing the effects of contaminated power, resulting in subtle improvements in the SQ. Their power cables are designed to do this, but the use of the Triton and Typhon QR greatly adds to the process. I am not referring to audible noise, but the degrading result of RF generated within and outside of your system. As many other Shunyata users will attest, this is major.

@Showroom Dummies it's the same no matter the Lumin goes into idle sleep by its own or it is manually triggered.

With Shunyata power cables improves the dynamics a little, and the most noticeable is the black background, you hear the details better.
