Pictures of your room

Super nice setup and room Brad! I have to ask, what are those diffusers/absorbers (?) with the female-super-hero shapes?

Very interesting, well done!

This is such a cool picture!

Even with isolation I have not had much time to sit and listen.
I am building the structural part of a pair of speakers for an EE friend.

Superb Brad !! next year(March) when I'm in Florida, we have to get together !

You would be referring to what one of the women on my wife's tennis team upon seeing them said. Is this some kind of 50 Shades of Grey thing going on here?

You are correct they are for dispersion. They are plastic martini glasses without the bottom. 3 dots of gel supper glue hold them to a foam panel. About as low tech as you get but work well.

My room, by choice leans very heavy toward the absorption side. I have 2 " of Ownes Corning 705 in all of the green panels you see on the walls. Behind that is 1 1/2" airspace then 6 " of fiberglass. All 4 corners have bass traps along with the upper corner around the room is a bass trap also.

The EE I'm building the speakers for built them for his living room and brought a couple of them over for me to try. I never had an interest in adding dispersion to me room until after playing with them for a few months. I am able to move them anywhere in the room as they hang from the top of the large absorption panels.

After trying them for a while I decided to build a few more and add them to the room. Like with anything some placement didn't sound good, others made a noticeable though not earth shacking improvement is spaciousness. Enough though that they will be staying.

Thanks for your kind comments.

Mike, though our rooms look nothing alike, your thread of the build is what inspired me to where I ended up with my room.

Thanks for sharing the process.

You are obviously well aquatinted with him, Jonathan Tinn is one of the nicest audio people I have ever had contact with.

Jonathan is one of the good guys for sure, when he behaves.:D

Here is my friend’s room. Please imagine without the blue cord. He just moved in into his new house and the room is still ‘in progress’.

Cool room, interesting he went with the long wall on what looks to be a sizeable room. Love the ceiling - I've been wanting to implement something similar (smaller scale)

Huge room indeed. The acoustic fixtures come from a previous Niles-designed music room. So his pick of orientation is likely a continuation of his previous room.

Love the red horns. Can you tell us what his equipment is.

Those are Avantgarde Trios. Basis (vacuum) TT, Trinnov preamp. He is now working on getting the speakers tuned with Trinnov’s room correction features

Here is my main room. Dont need much of an excuse to put up pictures...

For what its worth, the 802D3's are under appreciated in my opinion.
