Wow that's a nice system Paul! Looks fantastic with the lights off. There's something about those big boxy Harbeth's that make me all tingly inside!

Doug...Yes...those who listen to Harbeth would know those tingly feeling :D
 
Paul, your thread reminds me just how lucky we are, you have had & have a lovely system that no doubt sounds absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Paul - what a terrific journey! It sure is fun to have seen (and heard) such progression. The Vienna Acoustic speakers look great in your room.

Mike...At a first glance I thought it was stack of LP...but I looked again.....@-@ Mike what do I need the magazines and news paper for ??? lol
 
Ok. Now I decide to add a Turntable on my system.

I had a Nottingham TT once with Rega cartridge and wasn't cup of my tea.

Looking for a warm sound and not too expensive either.

Please feel free to chime in.

Paul, do you have any albums to spin on a TT?

* Some VIP TTs are quite nice and not too expensive.
Get a TT that includes the tonearm as a good match for it.

Then you just need a good quality cartridge (or two), a good record cleaning machine, few basic TT tools to set things up properly and well balanced, a good quality phono preamp, some LP's shelves, turntable base (solid stand), proper isolation, position in your room, and impervious to low frequency's vibrations.
...Some LP plastic envelopes too. ...Cleaning fluids for the stylus. ...And few other gramophone things along the way. ;)

Take your time; have a plan, all the tools, to set things all up, and to explore back the world of analog spinners. It is supposed to be the cutest and most natural music world there is, right behind R2Rs.

And! Here we got Jeff, to help you out. ...But I don't think that he carries VIP tuntables, but Clear Audio TTs yes.

* Turntables; do some come with tubes?
 
Paul, beautiful system, especially the Harbeth 40.1

Over here, Harbeth had garnered a strong reputation for almost all their models, and the 40.1 is respectfully, nick named as "the Emperor". That speaks volume of the brand and model's performance.

Yes, The Harbeth is big hit in Asia but not much love in USA :skeptical:

At least in Canada they are very popular like in your area.

I will keep my Harbeth M40.1 forever....I haven't listen to them for a while...due to my new speakers but will never a part .

Bob...I have about 300 albums and Yes I am interested in VPI.
Not sure about the new direct drive TT. Maybe I will just go with the Classic. I'm also interest in some Michell Gyro or AVID TT.

Anybody else wants to chime in for a newbie ?
