Oswalds Mill Audio. How a $300K speaker is made

I’ve seen their videos many times. I’d love to hear one of the systems and have no doubt it’ll sound great. Some of the comments on that video talk about sloppy solder joints etc.. I don’t know about any of that but man, the gear looks awesome.

I think I may go into the high-end speaker business. Alpinist Audio, it has a nice ring to it. But hopefully my speakers don’t! :D

Not familiar with their artesian craft but if they build their own tube amps, they would know how to solder. It was probably footage of the vintage gear in the video. You know, wiring and soldering jobs looked a bit different in the 50’s. I’m not 100% on that but I think the solder back then was different, often having the appearance of a cold solder joint

The mountains and rarified air are sort of taken over already :D

Poe went to college with Jonathan Weiss. Jonathan is the johnny in this song. if you know Jonathan it won't surprise you.

as a NYC marketing exec he does know how to package and sell stuff. and his gear does sound good. value? if your clientele happen to be sufficiently liquid it all works.

If the lyrics are anything to go by "Johnny" sounds like one inhospitable dude.

Would love to hear some of the speakers, and I'm a fan of interesting design. I remember thinking years ago that the Mini would probably be the only doable one size-wise, although they have a new monitor now.

The Mill is not too far from Philly. A few years ago at a gathering I met a guy who had worked at OMA for a while, but we didn't get to talk about it much.
