I am curious if the Ref 75 has enough juice for the Alexia. I need to make some decisions and would appreciate input.

I've heard the Alexia's with the Ref 75 and it sounds very good. So, i think the answer to your question is yes.

However, Ive also listened with the Dag stereo and especially with the Dag preamp, they are IMO quite a bit better. And that's using the Anniversary Ref 40 with the 75. My guess is that your Dart would be also.

Thanks Jock. If the opportunity were to come up to get the Ref 75, I might jump. I am seriously thinking about the Alexia. I really liked them when I heard them.

Joe there's not many speakers out there that I can say I heard.
Since there's not much for stereo stores in my area. But I have heard the alexias not with a ref 75, but the speakers are probably the best Ive ever heard. They were running them with older Convergent audio gear. And those cat amps and pre were making them sing.
Don't think you can go wrong there!! Good luck

Thanks Steve,

I value your opinion and appreciate your input. The Alexia are still something I'm tossing around in my head. There are a few other speakers I need to listen to before I make a decision.

The Stereophile reviewer specifically commented on the impressive power of the ARC REF 75. I can vouch for the seemingly endless power of the REF 250's.

And you know my thoughts on the Alexia's. Two big thumbs up!!

The Alexia's and the Amati Futura's are two of my absolute favorites.

Hi Joe

I heard this combination and the Arc 75 drove the Alexia without any issues. The combination sounded great. The preamplifier was the Arc 5SE.

Both are on the short list .......

In my mind, this would be a nice system. Add some vinyl, maybe a Linn Klimax and enjoy.

Joe,
If I can help with your decision,
I can’t speak for the Alexia.
The Amati Futura's, mine are sounding superb and real life like with natural warmth that exist in voices, instruments, etc, not saying is a warm speaker, actually I’m saying is not analytical and I am sure you like the looks. As per amp the Ref 75 sounds to me like a champ, but for speakers that top 250 watts or so even if sensitivity is great I would go for more Juice, Ref150 or Ref250, that said you have real good amps I would try that first on whatever speakers you choose.

Angel,

I absolutely LOVE my SF Evos and can easily see myself going for the Amati Futura, so I understand what you are talking about. I plan on taking my time with this decision and really appreciate everyone's opinion.

I agree with Angel, I've heard the REF 75 with the Sasha's and I thought the REF 75 ran out of steam.
