Hi everyone,

It’s been a while, but I’m back. I’m really sorry to have disappeared like that, but Mike and I have been keeping in touch.

Life, caretaking and family duties have overridden audio enjoyment, unfortunately. I’ve missed my great stereo system so much. I look forward to enjoying the hobby and more importantly, getting back in touch with everyone.

Mom needed help, so the stereo along with the savings had to go towards her care.

Mom’s in a better place and so am I. Retirement is on the table later this year and I have a lot of options.

I missed everyone but mom needed me.

Now it’s time for myself and some aural excitement :)

Joe

I might have to update my signature, so please bear with me.

Joe, I must say I have thought about you many times as you were taking time to be a good son. I hope you have been able to find some peace.

I look forward to hearing what you have planned next. It is great to hear from you again, old friend.

Hi Sean,

Thank you so much. I’ve really missed you and everyone else here.

I’m good indeed. Mom was always there for us and I promised to do whatever she needed.

Looks like Mike has some new toys that I need to hear. This is going to be fun.

Thank you so much Tom. Feels great being back. 🙏🏻

So glad you're back on here Joe. Although we have kept in touch, I know everyone here on the forum likes having you around and getting your takes on all things audio and your music shares. 🙏

I really appreciate your kind words. Your support has helped a lot. I’m looking forward to doing a little more traveling and even moving to a warmer climate. 🤗

Joe,

Good to have you back. I thought of you from time to time and hoped you were well.
It’s great listening again. I used to listen at work or in the car but it’s not quite the same as our home systems.

tried experimenting with headphones but always felt isolated and while they can sound awesome, it’s not comfortable for me.

Joe,
So good to have you back!! And what a fine example you set for others when it came to fulfilling your duties as a son!
Your devotion to her is rather rare in today's world. Your mom was so lucky to have you!

Thank you Anshul.

My parents would joke that they raised me to take care of them. Little did I realize that they weren’t kidding.

I’m the youngest and certainly the most connected so it never felt like an obligation or duty, just something that I did.

I appreciate your kind words and I have no regrets. Now I can relax and enjoy the finer things.

Welcome back Joe!

My father died last year after a long stint of Parkinson's dementia, and we did lose my MIL several years back to a shorter version of dementia. My mother, and near full time help took care of my father for ~5 years. Very draining on the bank accounts. I am aware of the effects on you. Well done.

Enjoy getting back into the swing of your life.

I also feel your loss of system. We retired at the end of 2024, and up-rooted to move from Lower Alabama to Seattle to help with the other end of the human spectrum. We are helping my daughter and husband by babysitting our 15 month old grand daughter while they work during the day. We are house hunting currently. I had to pack up my system at the beginning of December, and will not have it until we secure a house and move our stuff up here. Still praying for a decent music room.

You are welcome to come visit and enjoy some music in my house. I live in Kirkland -- right next to Bellevue.

Hi Joe nice to have you back. You were missed.
❤️

Thank you. Mike was “encouraging” me to come back and check in. I wanted to and needed to come back. Thanks for all your patience and support. It’s meant so much.

I’m so sorry for your loss. End of life can be devastating. It could have been a lot worse.

I’m sure having the new granddaughter, while a lot of work, is a blessing. Good luck with the house search. Hopefully the economy and housing market will improve. I’m counting on it too, my house needs work but I’m looking to see where I end up.
