Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....

You did, I'm just saying they sound better when left on and warm/stable.

I could definitely hear that today and noted it in my comments. You can leave them on all day no worries.

That seems off to me too Dizzie. Maybe the stereo Nord amp runs warmer than the Mono version? I believe George has the stereo version....

The Veritas monoblocks that I had for a short time earlier ran cool and nowhere closer to 101deg. My Pass gets pretty bad. I thought that in Nords the opamps where only class A and draws only few watts ?

Mike

As you are a tube guy at heart you might like the Sparko's op amps better than the SI's.

I could be wrong, but I think those are the ones Jerry first had??

I just measured my Nord mono's on top of the case with my wife's digital cooking probe/thermo.....83F.

That's pretty cool.

One thing I forgot to mention was how good the packaging was.

Mike-

Is the blue light on the front really that bright or is it just the camera picking it up?

It's really that bright. Too bright IMO. Easy to unplug it though if you're in the case swapping op amps. It's the two wire cable harness running from the power button to the PCB molex pins on the power supply board. Unplug it, no more BLUE light that can light a room.

Thanks for the tip! I guess I'll see when they arrive next week if it bothers me. But from Mikes pic they look like they're Tony Stark approved...

Another equipment malfunction sponsored by the good people at UPS. Going the extra mile to screw up your listening experience.

No popping here with 5m copper cables....

You are starting to worry me guys.....38.4C with an infra red digital thermometer....Colin is this normal for stereos?

Clarification ,

I'm not suggesting nor saying long cables were causing Mikes amp to emit popping noises ,I'm suggesting improved sonics with the shorter cables , 18 inches works pretty well , especially if you have long wire runs to your drivers ....

With the system on if you can, disconnect the leads to your tweeter it may tell another tale ...
