Nobody - Cecile McLorin Salvant

I had the pleasure of seeing Cecile McLorin Salvant at the Village Vanguard in NYC on Sunday. I have never, ever heard a voice like that. It is truly remarkable. Vocal jazz is normally not my genre, but her arrangements, the skill of her band, and her vocal performance made for a very enjoyable evening. If you get the opportunity to hear her live, don't hesitate. Oh, and her records are impeccably recorded.

She's the best jazz vocalist since Ellla, Billie and Sarah!

I plan to see her this Fall locally. Her arrangements and unique vocals amaze me.
