This past week, The Listening Chair visited with Bill Parish and Dick Diamond of GTT Audio/Video, where we auditioned numerous speaker models from South Africa’s Vivid Audio. Laurence Dickiey from Vivid is one of the top speaker designers out there. During the tour, we heard gear from all over the world, including the Netherland’s Mola Mola, Greece’s True Life Audio, Canada’s Kronos Audio, and the United State’s Kubala-Sosna. Let me proffer that if you haven't heard Vivid Audio speakers in a while, you really ought to go hear them. There is literally something magic about these speakers. Not only are they accurate (properly flat frequency response) and phase correct, but they have dynamic contrasts that bring music to life. And where they are second to none is in transparency. The speakers allow you to hear into the recording's venue and deliver subtle details of that environment that is nothing short of amazing. So captivating!
