Btw, 47 Labs has made a Kronos style rig for a long time and a much smaller investment.
Since you already have a VPI, i would get a restored Garrard with OMA slate plinth. Add a Shick tonearm and youre set.
That's the GrooveMaster from PBN Audio, a very nice design which uses several components sourced from VPI.
Yes that is correct. This particular one uses all the internals from a VPI CLASSIC DIRECT DRIVE with a beefed up power supply . It uses a solid Ebony plinth that is comprised of no fewer than 40 sections , both vertically and horizontally aligned. STILLPOINTS are used to maximize the isolation from the surface it sits on. It is one AMAZING table.
The table doesn't come with an arm. The MSRP is 35k. The 312 SME is very good. I do however want to try VPI's 3D "Print"Arm. You can see a brief write up on this table at ANALOGUE PLANET under Show report , "The Show" Newport 2014.Any idea is MSRP? How's the stock SME 312 arm?

Spiral Groove SG 1.1 turntable w Centroid tonearm. Welcome to Spiral Groove ($35,000) with arm..
Mike i never heard the sg 1.1. but i have heard the sg1 on several occasions and the sg2/triplanar. which is the best value, and a great table for less money. yes they are very pedestrian looking ,but simpler is better theory applies here. check out a new sg2/triplanar, would go great with that lp-s. you really dont need to break the bank to get a great table these days. and with a great arm and great cartridge, its as good as just about anything out there.
Thanks. Is it just me, or shouldn't they look a little less commercial for $35,000?
Also - what's the difference between the SG 1.1 vs SG 1 (which I can get for about $12k used).

brinkman balance is still one of my favorites. i just love them.
I concur. A great table that I enjoyed for a few years, but eventually moved on.
