New Table

A small washer underneath the record and then the clamp creates a convex shape flattening the edges of the record to the platter very similar to Oracle who I believe did this first followed by others like SME and Brinkmann.
Mark, my original VPI Classic has the same clamping system.

have seen the Triangle Art tables at Newport for several years running with NAT audio- they are so gaudy looking in person. ymmv.

I agree with Keith as far as the aesthetics of the Triangle Art tables, but they do sound excellent and of course cosmetic appeal is totally subjective. I kind of like the industrial design appearance of my Nottingham Dais table, but I can see where others may prefer a more high tech and polished appearance.

agreed , everyone has different tastes, i really like the plain jane looking tables that perform really well, like the spiral groove and dr feikert. although the plain look with a big thick platter appeals to me as well. i.e. classic or brinkman.

I'm not surprised, it's a simple effective solution.

I think it was Merrill that came up with an even better solution (the rim clamp) that VPI has perfected. I just hate using those things, especially after drink or two!

If brinkmann then AMG since AMG I believe made many of the parts for brinkmann?

Doug - my shiny new BENZ LP-S arrived today. Other than that, I need to sell my BNIB VPI before I can consider the AMG (or anything else).
