New Sonus Faber Extrema

They sure look great (as most Sonus Faber speakers do). I think they use a passive radiator on the back?

How extreme is a little stand mount speaker?

I think they should have picked a better name.

THE Sonus Faber could have been named the "Extrema" and it would have made sense, but not for this.

Only 30 to be made...super limited edition. I am sure they will be sold out. I must say I am not too enamored of their looks though.

Same here. All this teasing online for something that was probably completely sold out before it even existed... And what's with the dancing guy in the new Extrema commercial?

Do we need 2 minutes of that, shall we say "unusual approach", before we actually see the speaker itself? Then again, this is just a kind of PR stunt, in a way. Sonus faber's new marketing and brand awareness/development strategies might be working to attract higher profile wallets (higher still than in the past), but I confess they sure are turning me off and driving me away from the brand... Yes, you can say I am old-fashioned and I don't like change. :)

Every pair has been sold.

No surprise with only 30 made...and it's quite possible SF through their distributors strong armed their dealers into taking a pair. What was MSRP? It terms of recent product offerings, SF has the Amati Futura at $36,000 and the Aida at $120,000. Is it just me or is there not a massive gap between these two? Something in the $60-75k range (Aida mini perhaps) would be interesting.

With Magico, Raidho, Wilson and others advancing speaker technology, where does this leave SF? Franco was the heart and soul of Sonus Faber.

The Strads are still their best speaker in the lineup IMO.

No strong arm. My dealer was there.

I think they sold for $30K Euro.

Well, maybe this will launch a whole new string of products. But $30,000 Euro for a two way speaker is definitely interesting.
