As the site continues to rapidly grow, some of the ongoing moderator responsibilities have taken on additional work. Mark and Joe have done a terrific job, but I have decided to add Chris Lehner (CDLehner) to the list of Audioshark.org Moderators to help with some of the duties. Chris has been an audiophile for over 30 years and considers himself a true gear swapper (after my own heart). Chris has been very active on other forums, including over 9000 posts on AVS. Chris has owned a variety of gear ranging from giant monoblocks to little SET amps and everything in between. Chris is an avid fan of DynAudio and Harbeth speakers and will continue to share his knowledge.

With Chris' help, we will continue to maintain Audioshark as the best, friendliest and fairest audio forum.

Awesome Chris! I knew you had it in you. :)

Now I can take a little vacation. :panic:

I was going to say Congrats, but then I decided maybe by being a new moderator he needed condolences.

I was just about to make the same post.

A tough job, rather than congrats, Thank you Chris for your future efforts in keeping this the best audio forum on the net.

Thank you, fellow sharks! As Mike said...though I am a mere 46; I would say I have been an audio enthusiast for nearly 30 years. In fact, it was just about 30 years ago exactly...that the first CD player, broke the sub-$1k barrier; and I worked two jobs for a summer, just to snag one.

And so it began...

A few years later...it was out of my folk's place; my first credit cards, and my first "good" system (that very same CD player...along with a new Yamaha IA, and some Polk Monitor 7s!).

Until about 10 years ago...I mired in mid-fi mostly (alliteration is purely unintentional). Then...I started actually buying the gear, I had only read about and lusted after to that point. And boy did I! Audiophile, is a verb...yes? :D

But what is an audiophile? I hope first and foremost, it is about the music. Long before I loved the gear...I loved the music. I have my dad to thank: he used to put the headphones on me...when I was just 5 or 6 years-old; and let me play records...on his Japanese-made, bought-at-the-PX system (I later came to the realization, that it was probably when he and my mom wanted to do it...lol). But...no matter what the impetus; I was hooked.

However...not just a music-lover, does an audiophile make. I love me some kit too! Were I had the time and money...I'd try it ALL (or at least as much as Joe? :disbelief:). Kilo-watt of class-D muscle (Hypex, of course); good! Flea-watt 300B SET; good! Class-A biased mono-blocks? Very good!! And oh yeah; pre-amps, DACs...and let's not forget the speakers. Big ones, little ones; it's all good.

So...I'm looking forward, to talking LOTS of shop with you gents. Just don't ask me jack about Vinyl; I've been digital and discless, for over 10 years now. :P

I would like to thank Mike and Joe...for their support, and confidence; even if it sounds, as if it's a thankless task.
`
That's a joke, of course. I may not have many posts here...but I have lurked, and from what I can tell; the forum lives up to its billing. I'm happy to be a part of the group, and look forward...to stirring-up and re-igniting some of the threads!

Glad to see you here Chris and taking on the new position. Congrats.

Now, did Mike and Joe tell you that step-1 of the new mod job is to send all AS members a 1/2 dozen of those wonderful Maryland Blue Crabs when they are in season? I'll PM you my shipping address. LOL

They're in season NOW Mike! I just called on one of my clients today (when I'm not moderating the board...IT work for the Hospitality conglomerate, keeps me in gear)...and they said, starting July 4th; it should all be Maryland Blue, from here on in.

Of course...prices are so high, due to a shortage following the July 4th demand; that Joe will need to take Strad money, to actually afford them. ;)

I've still got my 150A HR I bought used in 2000. Great sounding amp for the price in it's day. One thing that always bothered me about Dave's designs unless he has changed is kind of like the "Flame Linears", they have no overload protection.

ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner! I'd bet your "high price" on the crabs is shockingly-low compared to getting them here locally (shipped to the stores) in the mountains of Colorado :D I'll take a dozen instead!
