Hello, I'm Steve.
Started on the slippery slope as an apprentice in the British army in 1974, part of our training was to build our own stereo receiver from scratch, including case and even the tuning display, etching boards, everything.
That was a great introduction, however being young I wanted louder than the 2.5 watts could deliver, my uncle was an electronics tech too and between us we tweaked it up to 25 watts, added a turntable and the rest is history.

I emigrated to Aus at the end of 2001 for work and have settled in well, have several friends into HiFi so get to listen to some nice gear and share some good music with like minded folk.

My present system allows for reproduction of most media.

Gear consists of:
Townshend Elite Rock mkII, RB250 modded by AO with cardas rewire, foam fill and earth mod, it also has the OL structural mod. Cart is an AT OC9/III MC.
Luxman PD264 with a stiffened chassis fitted with a Hadcock GH228 rewired by AO with VdH wire and the cart on that is a Shure V15 type III with jico Neo SAS/SS stylus.
The Rock plays through a Vincent Pho-8 and the Luxman via a DIY Akitika MM phono stage.
CDP is a California Labs CAL-15
Files are stored on a NAS and played back via a Slimdevices squeezebox.
Amp is a Copland CSA-29 integrated.
Speakers are Castle Howard S1 from 1995.

Headphone amp is a DIY valve kit prototype from Oatley Electronics (not on sale as yet). Phones are AKG Q701.

PC playback is via a NOS1543 DAC into a Denon PMA 250 II into Wharfedales from circa 1970.

I have other gear too but I have rambled on enough for now.

Look forward to my time here.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve, welcome from sunny Brisbane. Getting colder in Adelaide? Good weather to stay inside with a glass of red and enjoy your HiFi.
