New member and current system

Cables have since been upgraded to Clarus Crimson Bi-wire speaker and interconnects. Very expensive but worth it. The junky Monster Cable shown in the pics is gone.

It was just changed to a Phono Cartridge XX-2A from Dynavector. It's a low output unit which is much better than the original 20X high output cartridge I had to begin with. This pic has the original cartridge which has since been upgraded.

had it on my Aries3 years back, I made the switch to Benz Micro Gulwing, much preferred

The 2a is a newer model. 3 years ago, the a model didn’r exist. The old model was just xx2. The newer model sounds warmer and more balanced. It’s very good. Records are a pain anyway. I prefer my SACD player or naim streamer in that order. I still think a good SACD outperforms other formats including vinyl. Its certainly better than streaming.
 
That wood has been embargoed to Canada for around 35 years. The skill level is as good as gets most of those guys are past away now. That is Tambour doors. I suspect on the back of the cabinet is a metal plate that says Leif Jacobsen. I would consider getting a rider on your home insurance policy.
