New Magico Speakers

I bet most will be spoken for, if not all, even before delivery date!:disbelief:

No half measures from Magico. Most loudspeaker manufacturers bringing out an anniversary edition change the color, add a fancy logo and maybe update the terminals. Magico build a new cabinet, a new tweeter and a new driver! Trust me the Anniversary Limited edition will be the launchpad for the new M series line of speakers. They did not go through the R&D/development of a new new cabinet design, tweeter, and new midrage driver for 50 pair. There will be a new M line perhaps to replace the Q line or perhaps as the next level up. This business is about product development cycles and keeping the enthusiast hungry for the next best thing. Otherwise, a person who bought the V2 or V3 some 7 years ago would functionally still own them (and perhaps a few do) as they are built to last for 20 years + but where is the growth for Magico (and all high end audio companies) in that? This industry has to keep the marketing machine whirring to generate new demand (in this case not necessarily tgrowing the market but inducing churn so that ownership life-cycles are reduced to maybe 3-4 years which is the typical lifecycle between product iterations).
 
So Cyril, it's like a serious audio business for the serious ultra-high-end audiophiles? ;)

I agree with Cyril.

The same could be said for Sonus Faber's R&D on the Ex3ma.

You're even starting to speak like Bob (aka the guiding light of AS). What happened to you? You used to swing big iron and tubes like it was going out of style - MC2301s, D'Agostinos driving Raidhos and Magicos and Wilsons - and now, now it's all gone to hell with your SET tube amps and 100dB sensitivity Luminas and your green boxes and Harbeth speakers.

It's like I don't even know you anymore!

True Doug. Had a smooth 2 under 70 on Saturday on an Arnold Palmer Signature Course. Not to fear, I'll be back to shooting crummy scores in no time!
 
Hey Doug...every time I take a look at your signature line I can't help myself but think what an amazingly well thought out and well put system you have that I bet just sounds great. I think you have done it just right. Good job man. Seriously well done.

Thanks Cyril, you are too kind. It just makes me want to listen to music. Isn't that how it's supposed to be? :)
