I really would like to hear this setup (Q5 and Devialet Monos). I definitely keep an open mind.

i'm a proud owner of the Q5, which was purchased after extensive listening to all models many times. assuming you have enough power to drive the Q5 (they are power hungry beasts), they'll come to life and eat an S5 for breakfast. it's important to recognize that the s series versus the Q5 are operating at very different efficiencies. don't come to a Q5 with a tube amp or something that isn't ready to tackle a 85db/w/m type of load. i'm using two devialet monoblocks which are more than ample. and yes, regarding above, they're super neutral. and for the size, they'll drive dynamics and low frequency energy in a large room unlike anything else their size. i've never heard bass clarity from any speaker like the Q5. only thing better is the Q7!
The speakers, the gear, ...have no soul;
The speakers, the gear, ...have no soul; the artists (some), their music have. It's just a function to know which (speaker matched with the right gear) is a better soul reproducer, for ourselves (oneself), our own soul.
No two people are touched the same, in their soul. There is no absolute, only sound vibrations that resonate in the human's chords. ...Ears to emotional impact; inner soul.
The higher/deeper we go into our own soul, the more personal/interstitial becomes that journey.
Bob, interesting. But, if music has soul, then can a speaker sound musical* and therefore have soul? What about amps? The Shindo folks believe their amps possess a magical musical mystique. (NOTE: Volks need not respond). LMAO.![]()
edit .....
Anyway, let's hope Mike buys a pair, and sells them 3 months later.![]()

A post on the WBF forum says rumor has it Monday will be an announcement. I sure hope they aren't like Berkeley Audio with their new DAC. It seems they have had a picture on their site saying coming soon for at least 6 months. It makes me wonder if they are having design or manufacturing issues.

These new lines look nothing like simple to me. Look at the thickness of the top plate, and if you saw a Q up close, you would realize that these curved front baffles are anything but easy. I also do not see how they can squeeze another price point between the S and the Q. Cheap(er) this will not be…
Cabinet bracing is ensured by the use of machined formers that are more simple than the highly complex interlocking architecture of the heroic Q series, and thus less-labor intensive.
Sorry, I guess you misread my post. I was not offended in any way. Simply stated my views.
