Interesting. In the US, Esoteric K-01XD MRSP is 1.39X the Luxman D-10X.

That Taiko Extreme and Luxman L1000 are treasures. Can you tell us about how they sound?
The Taiko is the best piece of gear I purchased, now with the new USB card it’s a whole new level , it’s that good .
The L1000 is at another home I have not spent enough time with it yet to give a good review

Late to the thread but just about to order my D-10X. Wondering whether to go with the Lumin U1 or U1 Mini for streaming from a Nucleus. I know the U1 has a Toroidial PS and will stream DSD512. But will a decent add on LPS help the Mini and how much DSD512 material is out there? I cant find much.
I don't think there is music recorded (instead of upsampled / upmodulated) in DSD512 other than those meant for testing. However, it should be possible to use Roon to upsample everything to DSD512 if you like the SQ this way, provided that the CPU is sufficiently powerful and you have turned on Parallelize Sigma Delta Modulator in Roon DSP engine setting.
Lumin firmware recognizes and supports all common Luxman player/DAC including the latest D-10X and D-03X. I have user confirmation that U1MINI works with D-03X with no problem. I expect the same for D-10X.
A few months ago I investigated this issue.
DSD512 cannot be done via DoP for Luxman (or most of usual DSD512 DAC). You have to use native DSD for DSD512. However, that's only possible with Windows or a Linux kernel that supports Luxman D-10X.
Public Linux kernels do not recognize the Luxman D-10X or D-03X, therefore you cannot output Linux native DSD512 to it. I have modified the Lumin firmware to recognize them and send native DSD512.
Without a Lumin you can connect the D-10X to a Windows PC running Roon, then you can output DSD512.

Hi Greg I just noticed that your front end is pretty similar to mine.
C-900, M-900, D-10X......My D-10X just arrived. My next thing is to get the streaming end of my rig worked out. I use Roon on my computer right now into a SB Touch but want to go with a good quality server and streamer in one box or two, and run into the D-10X DAC. So question is, how are you liking the U1. And what are you feeding it? Roon?

Great review, I own a D-10X and it's the best CD/SACD Player I have ever heard or owned, the ROHM chip is incredible, no just waiting for my CL-1000 to be made [emoji39]
