Now using a wyred4sound DAC2 SE into the brand new (pre production in fact) wyred4sound ST1000 mkii! So far very impressed!

i also have a CJ CA200 which is just magical. A superb integrated amp!

But tonight, loving the new wyred combo. And the mkii version of the amp sports a new look that definitely moves wyred products from the lab to the living room. Very nice indeed!

Congrats! Can you post a photo of the new gear? The new W4S gear seems wonderful. I miss my CA200 (and Premier 350SA as well). Both are and were great pieces.

For some reason the RETURN key is not working when I post so I could not put spaces between these images.

If you are using Internet Explorer, try using compatibility mode. There is an icon in the address bar that will allow the switch. It's a little funky with IE. Sorry about that.

Jax,

Beautiful system. Tell me about the PMC speakers. They look awesome!

Jax, Would you elaborate with your PMC speakers ? How you describe the sounds ?

You know I am very interested. :D

Jax,

Beautiful system. Tell me about the PMC speakers. They look awesome!

Well, everyone likes different things and no doubt system synergy is a major player in great sound, BUT...these PMCs are quite simply the most satisfying speakers I've owned after 20 years as an audiophile. Other speakers I've owned recently that lost to the PMCs include usher mini dancer 2, KEF ref, dynaudio confidence, harbeth SHL5. And there's a long list that preceded those. Here's how much I like these, like you I'm an admitted and shameless box swapper, YET, I've considered throwing out the shipping boxes for these!!! That's correct, you heard me right!!! Locked in baby!

The speakers are full range with deep clean bass. Highs are extended and crystal clear. And the mids, well as one reviewer put it, something I've never heard from any speaker ever. Simply the best. And unlike so many many fine high end speakers, these speakers actually deliver goosebumps realism with crystal clean extended highs WITHOUT fatigue. Sure, they all claim this, they lie. To combine crystal clarity without some element of ear cringe is like spotting a unicorn. Well, the unicorn has been captured. Got him sitting right here singing for me.

Caveats? Well, they have a warehouse industrial look which is fine for my man cave but I'd still prefer the nice finish most competitors provide, but there is a certain charm to the rugged old school, fck you, I just sound good, look to them. PMC does make a new SE version that has more of the bling but still falls well short of the competition in my opinion. The other caveat is I think it's best to avoid overly warm gear as these speakers need no help on the low end. Provide a clean tight low end signal and they just flat out rock.

Ok, ok, guess whether I like them? : )

This is obviously no substitute for really hearing a system, but it's still fun. Watch a video of my system:

Another one:

Wow!

I totally understand. I'm thinking about throwing out the shipping boxes for my Studio2's. That's how much I like them. I need to hear these. Thank you for the great description! Guilty as charged for bing a shameless box swapper but I am finding gear that I admit is staying put. My Studio2 and CJ gear are like gold to me.

Big congrats! What a nice cozy setup! PMC speakers are outstanding. I heard them at RMAF for the first time and was highly impressed. They have such a natural tonal balance.

Nice room Jax, no doubt it's a great retreat for you to align the universe with. I also was looking at PMC speakers a while back but the bling won.

Jax, did you ever audition, in your own room, the KEF LS50 speakers?
I swear I saw a video in the past with a room very very similar to yours and with them speakers.
I can even retrieve it if I have to.

Yes. That's my video also. The KEF LS50s are first rate monitors. I only bought them on a lark (not as a permanent speaker). I'm a KEF fan.
