I have been on the phone with the McIntosh regional representative. He is trying to make it right. He has not been able to get a hold of Thomas; he has gone completely dark to him as well. He wants to see if he can get his dealer in Kansas City to deliver the amplifier to me, keeping the same deal. They would be doing McIntosh a favor traveling so far to deliver and setup, but they would make a little on the sale also. I told him I want the same deal that I paid the McIntosh authorized dealer for, and he totally understands. Hopefully he can get it worked out quickly since I have been waiting 6 weeks now.
Good luck - I do hope it works out for you.
I’m sorry you’ve had to go through all this worry and stress Randy.
I also hope, from a purely humanitarian view, that everything is ok with this Thomas fellow. Whoever he is.
Mc is a first class company, so I’m sure they will indeed make it right.

Thank you Mike. I Agee, it seems like he must have some issue going on. Joe (Mc rep) said he has known him for a while, and this is not something he would have ever believed he would do.

The McIntosh rep and the national sales manager for McIntosh were supposed to be having a Zoom meeting with the Kansas City store today. I have not heard anything as of yet.
is this the artisan fella? just bad business, I spoke to him few months ago about his TT, didn't have a good vibe and went with the Burmester table
No, these guys are the representatives from McIntosh; the regional and the national rep. They want to see if they can get the Kansas City dealer to do the deal that I original paid Thomas for...
Randy, I'm missing something. You have two Mac reps, why can't they just help you directly? Why do they need the dealer? It seems you ship Mac your amp, give them the money then they ship you the new amp.
I asked that question as to why he couldn't simply bring the new amp to me, he said that he preferred to run it through one of his dealers. There are a couple problems with simply sending me the amp. First, I am actually using the amplifier that is being traded and therefore do not want to go without any amp while waiting for the exchange, but more importantly I cannot currently move an old amp out of my system and install a new one because of my recently knee replacement and upcoming second knee replacement procedure. I had arranged all of this with the "authorized dealer" who I made the original purchase from. The dealer flacked out (no one actually knows what is going on with him at this point). I asked the McIntosh representative to honor the exact deal that I had originally paid for. More to come.
I wish I lived closer I'd give you a hand.
Randy, I'd be more than happy to help you move amps, or do anything else you need help with!
