That new look from Doshi is great looking. I've always liked the sound of his gear. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Larry Marcus was over Friday and we swapped my EAT 803s in for the late '70s Teslas. Improved the sound a bit at the extremes, even quieter and effortless. Now to try some different 12AT7s. Really wanted to get a handle on the unit's sound before playing around with different tubes.

What brands (and models) of ECC83/12AT7 do you plan to roll with?

Well I had used Tele ECC801s in Nick's earlier phono stage though Larry doesn't care for them. He likes the Tele ECC81/12AT7 better. I have a pair around but need to find them. I also liked the Mullard CV4024 as a cheaper alternative and it is easily available and one knows they are really getting NOS instead of UOC.
