My VPI Avenger Is In The House!

Thank you Mark and Mike. It was a real pleasure in meeting both of you and listening to Mike's system , what I heard was without doubt the finest home system I have ever heard. From the Kronos to the wonderful Avantgarde speakers to the acoustics tamed by Jim Smith it was a wonderful experience not to mention the hospitality was superb.. And to me, Vinyl ruled the evening.
ps: my copy of Neil Young @ Massey Hall is on the way.

I'm currently using an Ortofon Cadenza Bronze on the Avenger, courtesy of Mike. Wow, this cartridge plays way above it's price point. I can't hear any weaknesses at all, I think I might prefer it over my deceased Kleos. But since I can't make the direct comparison, who knows for sure. One thing for sure, it has great detail in a wholly natural way. Fantastic midrange and bass too. Vocals are spot on, just the way I like them.

Of course the Avenger might have a little to do with that :woot:

Most certainly!.....but the Bronze is no slouch on its own either. I love listening with mine too.

Glad Mike was able to help you out with a loaner. That's mighty nice of him.

Enjoy!

Outstanding news Mark! Glad you are enjoying the new table and cartridge.

Also, big KUDOS to Mike for facilitating a solution so quickly!

Mike , accidentally I broke my tube amps and speakers. Would you have extra Airtight amps and AVangartde speakers to spare ? I need to fix mine :P.

Mark, so glad everything works out !

An ATM-2 and a pair of LV's would work best for me:D. Just kidding Mike and congrats for helping Mark get up and running again.

I have my new Avenger home :celebrate008_2:

Today I will be setting it up. It's a gorgeous turntable, built like a tank and almost as heavy.

It was a long wait, but I'm sure it was worth it.

Very nice table Mark and a fine phonostage too. I just purchased a Chinook SE to use with my VPI Aries 3 and Ortofon Cadenza Black. After realigning the cartridge using the Feickert NG gauge and Fozgometer my sonics have exploded. The unipivot 3D arm was too difficult to get azimuth to my liking so I got the Foz, and the Feikert, too, over the Holidays.

As good as mine sounds, I bet with the right tools it could sound better! I'm envious.

As of right now, after buying Mike's Cadenza Bronze, I'm loving everything about my Avenger! Its truly an amazing TT :celebrate008_2:

Mark...apologize for the late congrats. She's looking good. Enjoy it in good health.

Are we there yet? Hows the tt treating your listening sessions Mark? Are you back to using the server yet?.....;)

Kev, buying the Avenger is one of the best purchases I've ever made in my audio journey. I simply cannot find fault with anything I'm hearing.

The Ortofon Cadenza Bronze has a meaty, full sound. Yet still gives me all the detail I need, in a nice, airy, natural and sweet way.

But I suspect a TT of this quality would benefit greatly with a top tier cartridge, and sometime in the future I will get one.

After this purchase I'm broke...................but VERY happy!! If you get a chance to hear the Avenger, you'll understand my enthusiasm.
