My New Lumin

Mark, What cable between the Lumin and pre have you found to work really well? I'm currently using a Shindo cable which is silver.

Bill, It all depends on what you're trying to achieve. As I stated before, the IC between the Lumin and the pre has had the biggest effect of any cable in my system.
Right now I have, on loan from a friend , a Kimber Select 1126, which is a copper/silver hybrid. It sounds fantastic, it really opened up the sound to levels I've not heard in my system before.
I have also tried Ansuz,Tara Labs, and the Shunyata Cobra, which I own. I would probably recommend Kimber Select, but it would be nice to speak with you first to see how your system is sounding to you right now.

I am intersted. The unit technically seems to outshine both the MB100 and Silenzio. I like that the base seems to allow for 1TB and more storage. I'd like to learn more!

What do you mean by "the base seems to allow for 1TB and more storage" ? There is no storage in the LUMIN !

As I mentioned before, 90 days. So, from now, probably another two months.

Well, perhaps I am reading this completely wrong. Or, maybe I have the wrong Lumin? I went here: LUMIN L1

The body text on the website says:

The Lumin L1 is the NAS. The Lumin A1, S1.....etc..etc, is the streamer/DAC end of things. Having both connected to your network allows the streamer to pull the info wirelessly from the L1.

just accessed Tidal through my Lumin A1 last night and it is superb. Only had about 1 hr to play with it but so far it is great.

I thought I had only an hour to play with it last night. Then I noticed it was 3am!
Got sucked in to other people's playlists. Some incredible music on there that I would never have discovered otherwise.

I feel the same way. I have used it for about an hour and really, really impressed. I need to figure out how it all works. For example, I saved Chris' top 100 demo list from Computer Audiophile and I can't figure out how to get all 100 songs in the Lumin playlist without tapping each one.

Go back one level (using the left arrow at the top of the browse section).
Then tap and hold on the coverart for the playlist. Then you get the options to add the whole lot to your play queue.

Perfect! I can see why you go by "ThingsWeLike'!
Muchas Gracias!

Hi guys - yeah, the Tidal integration is superb! Done right for sure! Something you may want to try is Cat7 cable. I was speaking with the distributor who told me he found it makes a nice improvement. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I did order some CAT7 cable to try.
