My new ARC REF 250's

Hi guys, coming out of lurk mode. I'm thinking about a pair of these to drive my SF Amati futuras. Currently using McIntosh MC501's and an ARC ref5se. I know Mike likes to change his gear, about as often as I change my sheets. I would love to hear, if any, criticism of the ref 250's before I make the plunge. What didn't you like about them, Mike?

Scott - good chatting with you on the phone. As mentioned, I think you will find moving from the 501's to the REF250's (especially with your REF5SE preamp) quite a step up in resolution and overall musicality. Good luck with your ARC gear and keep us posted!

I have mine for ~3 months and it's FANTASTIC! Plus heat from the tubes is keeping my room very toasty in 30 degree winter weather.

Try to order one with KT150s. Albert Porter is loving his with KT150. I have too many moving parts but will roll KT150s in another 350 hours. Keep us posted!

IMO, the Galileo is Ref series with KT150 and cosmetic changes to attract different demographic customers.
 
I loved my ARC REF250's. Definitely a pair of amps I really miss. I can only imagine how much better they are with KT150's.

I was driving my SF futuras with McIntosh MC501's behind the ARC Ref5SE and when I switched to these new amps, the synergy was night and day. These tube amps have incredible headroom and a beautiful sound. Best upgrade I've made in a long time. They have the KT120's and will put the KT150's after 2000 hours.

Holy Cow! That's beautiful. Do you have any pictures of the rest of your gear?

Also, how do you like the VOX center? I've been debating about that for a while.

The VOX is a dynamite center. I drive it with a McIntosh MC501. I think it would match perfect with your Stads. These pics have changed a bit, but you get the idea.
