Munich high end cancelled!!

The recent pet supply show in Orlando was at a crazy low level due to this virus situation, and an upcoming seafood show in Boston is predicted to be low attendance despite what the organizers are claiming.

I just read a northern CA person has contracted the disease and has not been to overseas or in known contact with anyone.

Holy crap! Most unfortunate but a necessary precaution. Axpona may be next.

Cruise ships are the world's biggest petri dishes and now we have airplanes to consider as petri dishes too. Airplanes hold less people than cruise ships, but you are packed into even tighter quarters. Until the world gets a grip on the coronavirus, it makes sense to me to avoid large public gatherings, stay out of crowded elevators, and think twice about getting crammed into hotel rooms with a bunch of strangers with sniffles and coughs.

It won't surprise me if Axpona is cancelled. It also won't surprise me if they still have it.

The bigger question about Axpona in my head is ... if they still had it this year, who would go? From the perspective of the consumer, it's probably still early enough to cancel travel and hotel plans, and even if the Axpona tickets themselves are non-refundable, you'd only be out ... maybe $50 tops? Seems like a minuscule amount to sacrifice.

I can't speak for the dealers, distributors, and manufacturers showing, however. I'd assume they may have a large non-refundable investment in the show.

A few hours before this announcement our marketing managers were still planning for it, looking at the floor plan, making decisions on the arrangements, etc.

Hotel, flights etc all in vain…. and all I'll probably get back is Force majuere… I feel it was a bit premature but i guess many sub supplies and products origin from China…
Planning Axpona as well and of above seem to indicate 'according to plan'

Not related to HiFi but still - Geneva car show canceled two days before the opening...

MWC (World Mobile Conference) in Barcelona cancelled. It’s a show typically attended by 100K people...
