Munich Hi-End Official Photos

Definitely the most natural sound of the show, and lightning fast dynamics.

I will definitely take a long hard look at AGs.

Sound impressive even on my car stereo.

Tonight, people from Germany, Italy, India and America ate, drank, laughed and shared their love of music and audio. Audioshark brought us together as instant friends. Wonderful people here tonight. Thank you to my friends for such wonderful hospitality.

Thanks goes to Martin (audiophon) for picking an epic location for the dinner. We were at ground zero of the Bayern Munich football team celebration in the city. High quality!

It was great meeting with Mike and Martin. Missed out on the others who didn't make it. Maybe next time ...

Looks like quite a show Mike. Must be exhausted! One more day or are you coming back tomorrow - Sunday?

One day more. Going back to some rooms - again. Except for a few static displays on the main level, I got through it all and had time to go back to a few rooms today. I'm not joking, it took two days of planning before the show even started and real focus once it did. Taking a break, going for lunch was out of the question. The show is too massive to stop for even a second. Plan the route and stick to it for efficiency. You can't just lolly gag around.

Tomorrow I should be able to put in another solid day and get a good taste of things that deserve another listen.

Geez...I really need to do this one. Many pieces look like they belong in a museum.

Has the music been ok? Cause, after all, this is all about music.

Ah, for the most part, ok. What I've found is that if you're patient, eventually you will hear something you know or really like. Generally the genres are mixed up nicely.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. You have to hang around the rooms for 2 or 3 songs until something good and/or familiar is played. That's easier said than done, though :)

I still haven't heard the Trios with proper music. Today, when I stopped by, they were playing german oompa music, like Oktoberfest stuff. Really...

cheers,
alex

Yes, I believe they were here at the Marriott.

Mike
if you havent already try to spend some time in the FM Acoustics/Vertere room at the Marriott (Hi Fi Deluxe show). The sound was great but what I enjoyed most was how Touraj and Manuel conveyed their passion for the music. Touraj was playing some acetates from Abbey Road...quite amazing. I was also impressed by the Kii Threes showing next door. Shame I have to leave today! Enjoy the rest of the show

Thanks. I visited the rooms at the Marriott twice - it was easy since I'm staying here. FM sounded good. Viva too!

Mike thanks for posting the great videos & photos!

Was this the first time you've heard Gryphon Audio? I'ld like to know your impression of them.

Oliver Goebel Interview Part 1

Göbel demonstrates quite nicely the spirit of German engineering and innovation: they are really re-imagining the fundamental concepts of audio reproduction when designing their components, instead of just putting a little bit of different coating on essentially the same driver or using a little different materials and design for the cabinet when designing a new product.

Of course you also have to appreciate the design, which for sure is not everyone's cup of tea.

Fantastic. I now see why there is so much love for this brand abroad. Their electronics are simply incredible. I'm heading back shortly for a 1pm appointment to hear their smaller speakers (pic above).

Also, as for Gryphon, Mr. Rasmussen is such a nice man. We spoke for quite some time about all his products. You can just feel the passion he has.

Do you think a Diablo 300 would fit in my suitcase? [emoji41]
