Munich 2013 .. The Ultimate Coverage !!!

:exciting::exciting::exciting:

Er, ah, excuse me while I go change my pants...:D

What I heard from the Ref1s and what I'm reading about the Constellation gear, that is my dream system right now!:audiophile:

I can only imagine how awesome these will sound. OMG!

I and a friend was in Munich and heard almost all setups.

My 5th visit to Highend, and the worst sounding of all - 95% of the setups sounded bad - bright, unmusical.
My ears was hurting after 3 days of listening to the bad sounding setups - never experienced that in the other 4 times I visit the show.

Do you think this is a "trend" we are seeing in high end audio? Über hyper detailed gear and speakers? Or was it simply the room acoustics or something else?

Was there any setups you liked?

This is a trend now since so many of the rooms was sounding like this - this is the wrong way to go - I was talking to some smaller manufacturers and also they say the same.

But there were also good sounding setups:

At MOC:

-Kondo
-Siltech
-Gauder
-Auris/Engelholm
-Vitus/Estelon

Hifideluxe

-Zellaton/CH Prec./Schnerzinger

Zellaton showroom - best sound in Munich by a clear margin.

-Studio Reference speakers with Analog Domain, Vdh preamp, LOIT and a big €50000 turntable.

Wizard - it seemed to me that there was an even greater focus in vinyl than even last year. Would you agree?

Was any reason given as to why manufacturers are going for the uber hyper detail when designing gear and speakers?

Were you able to hear the new Sonus Faber speakers?

Mike

Analog was used like Highend 2012 - in my 5 top best sounds of the show 2 of the systems was only used analog (Vitus and Kondo).
No explanation on the uber hyper detail thing.
You mean the SF Olympica? - only on silent display.

Hi everyone, the best setup was gryphon (IMHO), I do not use vinyl , but one friend that loves vinyl noticed that this year they were not so good like last year, the others good setup :

Estelon/vitus
TAD and constelation, and the TAD seutp
Gauder ( Isophon til last year)
Living voice olympia/ kondo
Focal/ soulution
avantgarde

In the hifideluxe, no doubts the best was:
Zellaton/CH Prec./Schnerzinger

In the kempinski hotel a good setup with WB cardinal speaker an CHprecision. I could compare one music in the DAC coming from a computer and the same music from the cd being used in the transport, I got the remote in hand and changed several times, I did not hear any difference.
